I certainly agree that is a possibility. However, many advantages involve a relatively quick pace towards the goal, which can make it very difficult to flag on the move if you are trying to stay even with the correct defender!
I disagree. As an AR you have every right (and the responsibility) to not flag the foul if you see an obvious advantage. If you flag it and the referee plays advantage you will be quite a ways behind your prescribed location!

I'm with @Padfoot on this one. Every single time you play advantage you risk some game control. Lots of teams think they have "advantage" because they keep possession. I have had players disagree with me for calling a foul in their own defensive third because they thought they had advantage...
Interesting responses, guys... Maybe this is an American thing, but I never explain anything if the caution/send off is obvious. I only find myself explaining if the player is genuinely confused.

Would a caution to the player that took the kick have made you feel better about the "huge advantage" you have to claret? ;)
