Don't get this...

The subs knew who was coming off.... Why not just make it easier and go off. Wasting time is why.

Just go off. Would do that if they were losing.

Unless there is a rule I'm unaware of that you must wait until the board goes up/announcer announces it.

Random Q. I know it used to be very clear (I believe initially in the “Decisions of the International Board”) that if a sub refused to come out, the referee would just restart the game without the sun taking place. I can’t remember if that still lurks in the magic book, or if the modern Laws expect a caution for DR if a player won’t leave.

This probably needs a bit of context. I was watching the game and I'm not really sure what you are getting at, I can hazard a guess but that doesn't really make for a great discussion.
 
Actually, as a Liverpool fan, it was one of the upsides today of losing that game, and absolutely no blame or discussion aimed at the officials and VAR, same for the Utd and Atalanta games. Makes it a bit easier to take when that happens!

Eze was standing by the side of the pitch, he knew he was coming off, the officials knew he was coming off, but due to the 4th having issues with the board because of a triple sub, why didn't Eze just go off?
It's not a major thing, I know, but just irks me sometimes that he just stood there waiting and laughing at the officials in the process.
