I have always found the way we are taught the advantage at a low level of refereeing quite confusing.
I always tell the captains I will play it where possible so to expect that delay. Also as well I try to say to the offended "seen the foul, can we play" he knows I've seen it and so does...
can I ask two questions? the second may be hard to answer.
How old are you and what was the age of the players? Edit, sorry under 11's as per your OP, how old are you?
Was there a big shout from a coach/manager or parent perhaps that could have influenced your decision?
sounds like to me you made the right call. You realised your mistake, explained it and rectified it, Well done, its not always easy, but the right thing to do.
I need to log into the full time system, it's been years since I have and have forgot my username and password.
It only gives you the option of retrieving your password, but have to enter your username and email.
If I can't remember my username what can I do
Apart from 1) the whole foot has to be over the line to be a foul throw. I think you have dealt with things correctly and especially the stern face.
One thing I would say with the 50/50 throws is make a quick decision and sell it. If it is 50/50 it's most likely that they don't know either, so...
Agree with this, as a ref we should look at the refs position and not them of the Sky retribution angle. I would not have sent him for that from the refs point of view. If the refs take a view on Costa because of the media view on him then they're letting us all down. As an ex player I would...
Don't know where one of the boys comment came from....odd. I think your mistaking treating a player as an equal to something else.
I ref because I like football
I think you should always do, unless you forsee a problem you being there.
Too many refs segregate themselves from the players. I'm there to enjoy myself and be part of the game, respect is a two way thing. It's sad that some refs feel they can't have a bit of banter with the players before...
I find it strange that in a lot of my games players expect you to blow the whistle on all free kicks.
I will repeatedly say "all free kicks are quick free kicks unless I say otherwise" or "on you when your ready
When you ref an academy game though, bang and they're off !!!
Some club liners do get paid, if they don't that's down to the clubs mate. Show them your appreciation before, during and after the game. It goes a long way.
But I never quoted you, so where did I say you did. If you assume it makes an ass of u and me, although making allowances for your geographical location I appreciate your sense of deluded self importance Smiley
I sort of agree with this. I find buzzer flags a bit clumsy and find myself searching for the button rather than sticking my flag up, this can sometimes lead to what looks like a late flag when you really need a good assertive quick one
Played today on line, the hailstone came down and I thought the side of my head was going to freeze. I've never been one to wear skins whether playing or officiating but I bought myself one for Christmas and I'm bloody glad I did now
