If the decision was wrong or needs explanation in which way the fa contacts the ref do they use moas or something?

the FA will only contact you if a player/coach etc is appealing a red card or other misconduct and it'll be via email initially.

is that what you're asking or is it something else?

It will depend what they need to know, some things are easier to discuss than explain over email. After I refereed a WPL local derby between two teams that absolutely hate each other I got a phone call from one of the FA appointments officers. "Rusty, can you talk me through what happened in the bar after the game?" "Sorry, can't help you there, I heard the shouting and the glass breaking so kept walking past the bar into the car park". A couple of stale sandwiches and a glass of pop isn't worth the considerable hassle that would have ensued had I witnesses anything that had gone on in there 😂
