What is R.L.O? Its a new experiment I am trialing up here in Scotland. R.L.O stands for Referees Liaison Officer. The idea is to attach a fully qualified senior referee to a football club to train club coaches to understand referee signals and decisions. Also to teach them the LOAF. They will then in turn coach this to their teams players. The hope being that referees will then come in for less abuse. In addition to this, the coaches will have someone to turn to to seek clarification from misunderstood decisions from a game that has been played. Other areas are also to be covered.

I wonder who is paying for this service - clubs or the SFA? Good idea and benefit for the clubs involved.
Unfortunately, it will not help the referees who need it the most, those at the bottom doing local football
