So, third division league game this morning, Yellow v Red. Early petulant trip from yellow, nice easy caution. However whilst still on the floor the red players kicks out and catching yellow in his gentleman area.
Call both over caution yellow for the trip and send off red for the kick. Both teams accepted it even if they didn’t necessarily agree.
Must have got through 5/6 balls due to them being hooded in bushes as nobody seems able to keep a shot on target. In the 38th minute we have another lengthy break whilst they try to rescue a ball or two.
Yellow substitute started yelling and calling people pussies. Decide that I will try to manage it, but get attitude and the usual “what you gonna do about it, don’t know what you’re doing.” Yellow card for the yellow substitute. He trudged off before clearly saying he’d see me in the car park and I was a c**t. Had enough so send him off, not taking that or threats. He comes at me and takes numerous players to hold him back. Refuses to leave the area at the side of the pitch and is team/manager just kept saying they don’t have to. Told them with his behaviour toward me I would not restart whilst he was there.
At this the yellow linesman (substitute) decides to call me a c**t so off he goes too.
Still getting dogs abuse and threats so decide to abandon on the basis that I feared for my safety.
Sometimes cards are a must and a situation can’t be managed. Hope my CFA throw the book at them because had it been a younger more inexperienced referee it could’ve been absolute carnage.
