Who played him on Lino?

I'd like to think we have all been in this situation more often than not when running the line.

You see a player is onside so allow play to continue and one of the defenders asks nicely (well sometimes they do) which one played him on.

Sometimes you can't really be sure exactly who played him on, you just know the player was onside.

How do you react in this situation?

If in doubt, "The right back" (unless the right back is asking, in which case, pick a different position)

I have noticed vast majority of times the one who 'played him on' is the first defender who appeals for offside (to save face).

Or the sheepish one who doesn't appeal and just walks away whilst his team mates are appealing!
