I guess that's because refereeing men's football is a lot more difficult, stressful and physically harder than refereeing women's football.
Generally yes, but it's also better paid, better facilities and more respected (as this thread shows) than the women's game. So swings and roundabouts

Ironically one of the reasons I enjoy officiating in the WNL is because the facilities, comms and general respect is much, much higher than in the men's regional leagues I've worked in.

The respect from players and managers is much better I agree! I more meant wider respect within football, it's still seen as the "lesser" game
