So the list has come out for our 5 cup finals this season and I have been appointed in 3 of them, beginning with a line today, a line next Tuesday and finishing with a middle on the 16th April. I had a feeling I'd had an ok season but this has come as a complete surprise!

incident in today's game where a player from white team imitated the accent of a player on the green team (player spoke with a thick mancunian accent). It was clearly meant to annoy the green player and try to provoke a reaction from him. I cautioned the white player but have been doubting it...

Had the most incredible game today. managed to play 90 minutes plus stoppages and not a single time did I hear 'foul throw' shouted me. I'm still slightly stunned 7 hours later.

I haven't taken the game as didn't want to put myself in that position. just felt it a shame that we feel like we have to reject appointments because the perception that our integrity will be in doubt is there.

You'd like to think that this red card will make him think twice next time, but experience would suggest he will be a number throughout his time as a player.

Doesn't sound like you did a great deal wrong, and I'm not sure I've ever met a ref who would say they had it nailed after their first game. Teams tend to know when it's a new ref as they won't recognise your face so for the first few weeks or so you may find that they try it on a little more...

coin is the obvious one. I did once turn up without flags (my 2 year old had been playing with them and I'd forgotten to put them back in the bag). Thankfully the ground was 5 mins from my front door so no one noticed

My Saturday game has just been cancelled, ironic that it's not the weather that's done for it (3g pitch) but lack of player availability. still hopeful that with all the wind the grounds will have dried out sufficiently for my games to go ahead on Sunday.
