Agree that it’s not that simple! And you’re right some players will move the ball at a free kick and other restarts, it’s just such an obvious pass in this situation it’s hard not to give it!
Definitely needs guidance or something because we have already seen inconsistency with it!
It’s hard because I suppose until 5/6 years ago this wasn’t an issue as the ball would obviously have had to leave the area first. So it is a relatively new phenomenon that IFAB haven’t quite decided what should happen.
By the letter of the law, I think it should be a penalty. ‘The ball is in...
Very surprised this wasn’t given at the time or after a VAR review (if there was one).
Best video I could find so apologies for the dramatic music etc.
I00% penalty if I see that in one of my games.
That jewellery/ accessories amendment 😳
Does that mean as long as they’re covered players can now wear their Apple Watches or Garmins?
Are chains allowed? Nose rings? Ear rings? Lip rings? (You get the picture) - what was wrong with just a nice and easy ‘no jewellery?’
Really like his stuff (the videos from his own games are good too but he seems to have stopped doing them recently), but his comments to people are hilarious (and justified in my opinion - ask stupid questions/ give a stupid comment and you'll get a simple and abrupt answer back!) - but really...
I'm not trying to be difficult but for those who have said red, why?
The attacker is almost jogging when he is near the ball as the pass through has lost all its pace on it, how can you say that an OGSO is imminent? The other defender is around a yard away, awaiting the attackers touch to...
Have they understood correctly? I think they are saying they cannot review the *awarding* of a restart (whose throw/ corner etc) - but if there was a foul throw which is what I think you were asking - would that be reviewable?
Thought process was probably:
- 'Ahh, should have played advantage - I'll give a yellow so I can say I had to stop play for that and appease the Palace players'
- 'Ahh ********'
What makes me laugh, after being a player in one of these time-out huddles', is that a lot of the information is just - "Oi you - get in to number 7s face', or 'Try and play more direct behind the left back' - hardly any great tactical insight (admittedly this may be because of the level I was...
This is the conclusion I sort of came to too, but only for the 49th minute offence - the 44th minute one I think is a foul on the defender as he is a lot closer to the ball and about to poke it away, the 49th minute one the defender just puts his leg in the way to purposely trip the attacker not...
Sorry genuine question... do we need to make them wait 30 seconds on the sideline? Or is this a hypothetical? If we do I have not been following that at all! :redcard:
At grassroots too? I can see a lot of officials at the weekend forgetting to stop the clock for every throw in, corner, goal kick and losing track of it all!
Too far gone probably and equally as problematic but I think probably easier (just) to actually manage time wasting as it is now.
A whole...
I personally don't mind this as handball - I get the supporting arm argument but the player has effectively saved the shot from going towards goal by spreading his body out and his hand has blocked it.
