Used REFSIX in over 300 matches now. Many more if I include tournaments and no never experienced what you describe. Might be worth checking battery performance on your watch?
Some good advice on this thread but I would also steer you towards the 3Ps principle.
P - Personal
P - Public
P - Persistent
I ref in leagues where there sin-bin is in play.
If I hear dissent that is persistent (but hasn’t been personal or public) and continues after a warning then I’ll sin-bin...
Thanks and I appreciate your support and opinion on this matter. Will be interesting to see what comes from the FA and counties to the grassroots leagues. Hope you have a good pre season James.
Ok. I guess we will see what trickles down. But I’ve already heard leagues saying they don’t want to implement it so let’s see. Four things I would say are:
1. The first link in the FA email which is a 20slide presentation gives guidelines yes but does not state that it is mandatory in all...
JamesL, thank you for your informative and interesting posts and I apologise if you’ve felt a need to repeat yourself. However your position does seem to directly contradict the email that the FA emailed referees on 21/07 (I assume all registered referees) with the law changes and on this law it...
Based on the email received from the FA on Monday 21 July it is clear that competitions (so leagues and their cup competitions) have the option on this ….
Law 3. The Players
Competitions have the option of implementing the ‘Only the captain’ guidelines
Hi I am a Referee in England. On June 1 my registration would normally also auto renew i.e. I don’t have to do anything the FA have my bank card details the payment is taken and registration is renewed automatically. However, I know that this will not work on this occasion because since last...
Hi. I referee’d an older boys match recently. The Home team played in all red kit. One of the players chose to wear his shorts so that the waistband at the back was let’s say below the line of his buttocks and at the top of his thigh. This exposed his boxer shorts which were a different colour...
I think the comparison of 3G Vs high kevel grass surfaces is very different to 3G Vs grassroots pitches. Unfortunately I dont ref on any professional grass pitches so my benchmark is 3G Vs grassroots park or school or club pitches. For me I prefer 3G because its predictable versus the divots...
Hi. Interesting topic. I'm 57. I ref 3-4 times per week on average, usually covering 4.5-5.5miles per match. Hip replacement 14 years ago. Suffer discomfort in legs after refereeing now but can manage it. However I actually prefer artificial surfaces because I find the more predictable versus...
Hi. Great work. I’m just qualifying. Did my first futsal Sunday - u12 girls so a nice easy start. One question. With the hand count to 4 seconds I noticed that you moved your arm not in the attacking direction of the team taking the kick in but in the opposite direction. I think I was told on...
Just done my futsal referee course which included refereeing U14 futsal tournament matches and loved it.
Couple of questions for futsal Refs.
Assuming you’re doing a match with one or two officials (so no one else is recording fouls) how are you recording the number of fouls? Are you doing it in...
How are we Refs managing this scenario …... Blues winning by one goal. Tense match last 10minutes. Blues GK - every time ball is collected catches it then dives on it and lies on the floor for about 5 seconds before getting up to try to run down time. Opposition getting very vocal. Do we:
