Offensive language on a football pitch

I see why I was wrong in my attempted justification.

Offensive language on a football pitch

There is no derogatory intent so it is acceptable in a high school league. An outburst with a low volume is not cautionable in a high school league. But the suspension is not a decision by the referee or league, it's by the academy association so that is warranted. So it's just the caution...

Offensive language on a football pitch

This is only based on what I know, that this was said in a conversation and not directly intended to be derogatory. Tell me what I don't know, am I just seeing one side of the incident. If it was more than that, then I'm totally wrong.

Offensive language on a football pitch

It's not as simple as the "word" that is used. You need to weight the circumstances 1) content of the words used (this could be tricky when you consider language, culture ... ) 2) volume 3) who was this directed to if anybody (i.e. was this just a momentary outburst) I find it too harsh when...

Offensive language on a football pitch

US Level 2 (USL) football club San Diego Loyal walked off the pitch during their match on Wednesday against Phoenix Rising in reaction to an alleged homophobic slur towards one of its players. By walking off, Loyal forfeited the match and ended their chances of reaching the playoffs. In the...

    USA Cup 2018

I will be out on the pitch in that July tournament. I live 5 miles from the National Sports Center in Minnesota and spend my whole season on those fields.

VERY last minute game - eventful!

Is the two-whistle system ever used in Britain? The high school leagues here in the States allow a two referee squad, but only because high schools are under a variation of USSF LOTG.

VERY last minute game - eventful!

I agree, I'm only referring to sports glasses in matches at the youth level. When you go up higher, that's a different story.

VERY last minute game - eventful!

Most of my matches need to follow association or tournament rules and glasses are always allowed. I've had a ball smashed into my face almost once a year, so my personal preference is not to wear sun or prescription glasses. As for other referees, I think, they need to follow their preference...

    Substitution on any play stoppage?

Oh yeah of course. Sorry I was getting conflicting answers here across the pond. They are not as knowledgeable about the LOTG here in the states.

    Substitution on any play stoppage?

There was something that I never saw before, a substitution was made when play was stopped on an offside call. Can that be done? The LOTG states that substitutions can be made at any stoppage of play.

    First game tomorrow, u10's

I had a few matches when I didn't press the start button. Even if you forget, all you need to do is start right on time and nobody will notice.

    Ouch achilles

Yes, best piece of advice that can be given. After my Achilles tear I had a certified trainer create a program to recover from that injury. Being 51 it was a 9 month program that gradually strengthened my muscles and brought me back to my old self. But after an injury of that caliper, there is a...

    Ouch achilles

What helps me a lot is a long warm-up before a match. Walk around the pitch 2-3 times, calf raises, lateral lunge... when getting older a gradual use of legs is important.
