    Bournemouth v Newcastle

Just watched it. Certainly wasn't after the second half drinks break. Bournemouth restarted with a throw near half way and played it through midfield towards the Newcastle goal. If it did happen then it must have been at some other point. :)

    Summer workout program

No, not actually. ;) The proper Yasso 800 regime is doing a best effort (5k race pace) 800 metres (generally 2-4 minutes for most people) followed by an equal amount of time for the recovery jog. Five years ago, I was fitter (and younger!!) and found that after 3.20 of running the 800, the...

    Summer workout program

About 5 years ago (before I had achilles surgery) A used a good variation of Bart Yasso's 800's on the treadmill. I'd do the 800m in around 3.20 followed by a 300m recovery jog (as opposed to the recommended 400m) which took about 1.45. Most I'd ever do at that pace and rate was 8 repetitions...

    GAL vs GFK

Commentator said he'd already been cautioned for "time wasting". Pound to a penny it was for taking too long at a goal kick (delaying the restart) but only my guess. LOTG say if the GK holds onto the ball for longer than 6 seconds, it's an IDFK. For me, the ref's got it spot on. :)

    GAL vs GFK

Now there's a thing! Lol. I honestly have no idea where they get these people from. You'd hope that even if they don't have an extensive knowledge of the LOTG, they might at least have a copy at hand or even a SME to explain/correct them before they open their gobs and say something like he did...

    GAL vs GFK

Maybe I'm missing something here, but surely, irrespective of what has gone on before, it's the referee's decision, so long as he's correct in law. From what I can see, the ref has simply awarded an IDFK against the GK for holding onto the ball for more than 6 seconds. Why complicate things by...

    English Grassroots Return

The virus is transmitted via droplets. Any method of infection is potentially possible. Absorption (possibly through a mucus membrane such as the eyes) and inhalation are clearly the two most obvious ones. Anything that inhibits this process whether it be a physical barrier or a distance barrier...

    NUFC v Blades

I thought he was spot on with the first two yellows. USB - aggressive attitude - nailed on. Inexperience? I don't think so. When you get to Prem League level you're experienced in football and the LOTG full stop. It's not like he had a 50k crowd to influence him is it? If there'd been another...

    English Grassroots Return

    English Grassroots Return

Yeah I know, I'm no stranger to a sudden glut of FA Cup/FA Vase Assistant appointments that seem to materialise every weekend from around mid August, ;) but for those of us crusty old level 5s who generally do a Step 7 or below regular Saturday middle, the season proper starts September onwards...

    English Grassroots Return

I don't think it'll start again before Sept. Not actually worth all the hassle for clubs, players and officials alike to try to make it happen a few weeks earlier. What would be the point? Last season went pear-shaped. It's gone. This is a new season looming now so why try to start it earlier...

    Distraction by attacker during play

Agreed. If the offence (in the referee's opinion) occurs then it's caution first and foremost - IDFK is simply the correct restart. I fail to see where ambiguity exists ...
