    Additional Details on Whole game

Hi all, Had my first (and second) ever red card today, and I've ran into a bit of confusion while reporting them. When reporting cases of Violent Conduct on whole game, is it necessary to add a comment in the "additional details" section? I thought that you needed to talk about the specific...

    Offside Indirect Freekick

ooooo, I've looked and that's right - that's quite interesting, I remember on my training course we covered the penalty procedure, and we were told that a player could stand in front of the ball however they would be classed as offside. They've clearly got their laws wrong there!

    Offside Indirect Freekick

If I remember correctly, you can still be offside from a penalty, if you stand on the side of the box in front of the ball. Players tend to be smart enough not to do that anyway so you never actually see it. Edit: I'm talking nonsense

Punishment for persistent foul language (not OFFINABUS)

Women's open age. Words used were only "f off", shouted very loudly however not directed at anyone in particular. It only really stuck in my mind since it was a women's match, which from my experience tends to be a lot better behaved, so anything like this stands out like a sore thumb. Pretty...

Punishment for persistent foul language (not OFFINABUS)

Hi all, I had a thought about foul language from players during a Saturday league match I watched recently. In the match, a player was constantly (and loudly) swearing whenever they made a mistake. Not enough to reasonably argue OFFINABUS, but the referee appropriately warned the player about...

    The FA Refereeing Course

Absolutely. As soon as I got my first appointment, I found a match in the league I had registered with and went to watch the game, paying attention to the ref and what they did. It gave me so much more confidence going into my first match.

Open Age Tolerance for showing cards, first game as a trainee ref

Edited my initial post - the victims team had one player tell me it was soft, and that was only said 50 minutes later to try convince me a different (much less dangerous) challenge should have been a yellow (which literally doesn't make sense), so I shouldn't have considered that when reflecting...

Open Age Tolerance for showing cards, first game as a trainee ref

Very well explained - I had already reported this one but I was a bit doubtful about it for the next time I have to do it. In this match, I gave the manager a very timid "no, I think I have to report it", but it'll be a lot sterner if I get asked again.

Open Age Tolerance for showing cards, first game as a trainee ref

In actuality, my initial thought was a red card for serious foul play. In the tackle, the offender sprinted at the opponent before lunging in from diagonally behind the opponent (roughly at the opponents 4 o'clock). Two feet off the ground, considerable (but not excessive) force and catching...

Open Age Tolerance for showing cards, first game as a trainee ref

New ref here. Had my first game recently. Open age league match, and I gave my first ever yellow card for a reckless challenge. Player apologised, and I had no significant incidents for the rest of the match. I was very confident it was RP, but after the match the manager and a few players...
