I'm using buzzer/beeper flags as an AR for the first time in ~6 hours.
Any good general advice?
I've read through this thread and found some good ideas. Just thought I'd ask folks directly here.
A fairly comprehensive pre-game here. I know all referees are different but it's a good start...
Thanks for clarifying, Peter.
I think this was mentioned more in the context of "manage this quickly and don't allow it to poison the game" and not "taunting in itself is an offense and needs a direct consequence." I think @george.g said it well above.
They just want us to help maintain...
I attended a clinic for State Final referees last night. Very cool to be invited to!
We talked about a whole lot more but these are just a few things that stood out to me. Thought it might be helpful to share.
- Taunting was seen a bit more the further the tournament went on so if/when we see...
@one I accept this interpretation.
Totally agreed. That's one thing we all have to keep in mind when watching video clips of one moment of the game. We're not taking the whole game into account which really is needed to determine how a subjective call is made in a singular moment. I like your...

2. Was it SPA?
I think...

I'd echo what others have already said here. Sounds like you did alright!
I was an AR recently in semi-pro game and...
I remember first learning LOTG that this was the only instance when somebody could be given a red card but not actually sent off. Tough situation.
Agree with @Tom_R above. It's a good idea and something to keep in mind in situations like this.
100%. Very important to continue to be a student of the LOTG.
Recently worked a youth game in which there was a double touch by the same player during a FK. Gave a FK the other way but forgot it was supposed to be an IFK, not a DFK. Only remember when the coach asked me before the kick, "Is...
