I m on search for football boots and Im between adidas copa and adidas kaiser. Does any of you use either pair of shoes and do you recommend them?

The Referee Store
I have a pair of Kaisers. Loved them and always wore them right up until I bought a pair of Nike Premiers. Now my Kaisers sit in my bag as my back up pair.

I love the Nike Premiers, they are like wearing a pair of slippers to referee in, really comfy and very light.

Wore a pair of Kaiser 5's for the first time ever last week. Gave me really bad blisters which was a schoolboy error for me but I've never had blisters from new boots in the past so was surprised. I'm still going to stick with them though, albeit on a gradual-break-in process now because they were the most comfortable ones I'd tried on for a while. They cover quite a bit of the heel at the back and sides so beware blisters early on. :)

Had kaisers for 2 years now, comfy as hell for my flipper feet

I've tried the 16.3 and Gloros but went back to the Copa Mundials. Bit more cash but much more comfortable for me. Personal thing though.

I have size 12 and wide feet. Adidas have always been the most comfortable boot. Decent insole is the key if you have feet trouble, makes a huge difference. Any ex footballer who played at a standard where you play midweek as well as weekend will always tell you to avoid new boots until you absolutely have too. When it looked like your old boots are on their last legs, get a new pair and wear them in training or just for the 2nd half for a couple of games as a ref. Your feet are your wheels and new boots are the worst thing possible.

people also don't realise when they are driving, that the tyre span that hits the road is apx the size of your hand.
they happy to pay for Sky TV or spend £150 on a night out, but ask someone to pay £60 for a tyre and they shop around to save £2.50
Madness

I've heard about men with big feet!!!! Big socks!!!

Just checking this wasn't posted by a bot on your account Ben as it makes complete sense!!! :smoke::)

I have size 13 wide battleship feet, 6'1'' the same upper body as a colleague who's 6'8''....... Sadly my legs couldn't be assed to grow so i'm vertically challenged... Your feet are very very important, buy once, but right, sod the cost if you are comfortable....

Occasional bout of sense, it won't last. My boots I'm using now are £25 Adidas ones I bought 3 year's ago when I was just playing amateur stuff on Saturday afternoons so I didn't want fancy boots. Best I've ever had, fit like a glove! Kaisers are more expensive but they are great boots, had them for years. The amount of young lads who used to turn up with brand new boots for pre season ever year and never learnt!

Another mistake people make is wearing new boots for pre season friendlies or early matches when the pitch is rock hard. You wear new boots for the first time when it's wet.

Copa Mundials are my favorite. I find the kaiser a bit stiff and the tongue sits a bit differently. These are really small things and I would recommend going to a shop and trying on a few pairs before buying new boots.

Don't wear boots at all when the pitch is rock hard. Wear astros, or even black running shoes.
I always wear boots no matter what the pitch is like and never get blisters or any other issues. It might not be to everyone's taste but it is not a hard and fast rule.

Have you ever tried Astros or "hard ground" boots on rock hard grounds? It's more about getting a bit of extra edge on performance and comfort on one and not so much about discomfort or issues on the other.

I don't recommend runners if there is any green grass on the pitch even if the ground is rock hard. Any grass makes it slippery.

Most modern design boots come in at least a few categories. Soft ground, firm ground, hard ground, astro/artificial ground, hard Court... It is not economical to get different boots to match different conditions.

The boots I wear are Copa Munddials so they would be considered hard ground boots. I don’t linke the soft ground World Cup ones as the studs stick through eventually and cause discomfort. I also don’t see a huge difference in grip. I wore runners once and hated them. Completely agree with your point about the grass becoming slippery, it is best to be prepared for wet or slippery weather even when the sun is shining!

Adidas Copa Mundial all day long, Kaiser's are good but are basically a cheaper version of the Mundial. The Mundial, like the World Cup are made from superior leather (Kangaroo i think). My first pair lasted 6 years (roughly £15 per season). Look after them, clean them after each game, dubbin them and leave it on for 24 hours before brushing off. If you look after them they will last.

My father in law gave me a piece of advice years ago, never scrimp on a mattress or shoes as you spend half you life on your feet and the other half in bed.

your father in law sounds like a wise man.

Have to say I buy cheap boots from sports direct and I am lucky if they last beyond a season or too. I will probably look for a more expensive pair next time round..
