Managers fighting

Team A warned me about team B fouling and kicking with no intent to get the ball in U7s at the end of the game when teams were meant to shake hands team a called team bs manager a disgrace and I stepped in between the managers when I felt it was going to get heated and asked them to both leave it as the game had finished. Team bs manager said if you have something to say say it over here where they both got in each other’s faces again, at this point I pulled one manager away and got one of the back room staff to move the watching 7 year olds away and asked one team to do they post match briefing on one side of the pitch and the other on the other side while delaying the kick off of my next game to make sure everyone left with no further incidents, what should I have do?

Not a lot you can do, a few blasts on the whistle but certainly dont be putting your hands on anyone.

Shocking behaviour at any age group never mind an U7s game

Simple, report both managers to the League Safeguarding officer. At U7's, they should be teaching and if they get like this at this level, what else can they do.

A word of advice, you should not be pulling the managers away. If you get hit, then there could be lots of issues. It is each team's responsibility to look after their officials and players.

Ok thanks 👍

Mate I wouldn't know how to ref u7s and what happened between the managers is seriously shocking. What the others say is correct in don't get between them (easier said than done ) cos it's not worth getting one on the chin.

I guess all you can do is send a report to the league Secretary county FA.

I'd imagine at that age there's more spectators which probably doesn't help

Exactly, there are more spectators than there are at my u15 games and I was really surprised none of them stepped in and reminded them where they were and of their responsibilities

I think the younger they are the more competitive the parents/spectators are and would probably back their childs coach to the hills.

Maybe I'm naive here but surely u7s is about enjoyment and being allowed to learn the game in match situations. I think its good to teach them to respect the referees decision and that it is ok to lose .

I agree, I think as we are taught on the course, we need to help the spirit of the game and that it should be about giving them all a chance to play football and start to learn that the refs decision is final and they can’t argue back like the players do when they watch their team in the premier league on TV

I'd put in an extraordinary misconduct report, one for each manager.

It should read something like

"after the final whistle, manager A said 'yada yada yada to manager B, and did so and so. As a result, I did so and so. I was (this far away) and saw and heard the incident clearly.

Likewise do one for the other manager.
