Rashford v Vardy

Not much difference in the challenges on these two yesterday for me.

One was a pen the other a yellow card for simulation for Vardy - harsh that I thought.

Just goes to show that referees are still going to differ game to game even with the benefit of replays!

Was at the Leicester game and couldn't believe the VAR replay when I saw it when I got home. Those have been given all season (given against Leicester at Anfield earlier this season for the same thing for example), how is that not clear enough and how can VAR decisions be so inconsistent!?

That last question is easy - they are human referees like the rest of us!;)

Agree - however, they also like us on here have a passion for football and so you could assume they watch other VAR decisions and try to be consistent?

I sympathise with the ref in the ground - Vardy has made a lot of it and so it's easy to see why alarm bells were ringing for him and he went dive. But for VAR to not overturn that is bizarre. One slow motion replay is all it takes to see that Vardy's got there first and then been caught by the defender, it's exactly what VAR is there for and should have been a textbook example of it working.

Takes a step then falls. Get up and get on with it.

And I don’t care for the MOTD pundit but being poked in the eye is a nailed on penalty.

If so, I’d expect straight away not to take a step. If you said, caution was harsh, I agree 100%.
When you're running and get caught, you can't just stop instantaneously - your momentum will carry you forward at least a short way. Anyway, even if he did take an extra step, it doesn't alter the fact that he was caught in what I would say was a careless manner by an opponent, and therefore a foul.
