There won't be a list just yet - purely due to the options available at L3 to L2b - ie people getting promoted to L2b, but rejecting on the basis they are holding out for L3 Football League line. As a result, the list would no doubt be a work in progress whilst those conversations take place and gaps filled.

I've had the privilege of assisting four of these gentlemen over the past year. Congrats to each of them! One interesting observation is that their "style" varied greatly, from laid back to jovial to full on and intense. So, for those who are worried that the system is producing 'identikit' referees or that you 'have' to be a certain type to succeed, I can hopefully provide a little reassurance!

They are going to have some mileage to some matches, as their Pool includes West Yorks league. For a 2.30 kick off near Leeds, they will have to leave Thursday night (I know the road network......) :)

Just to mention that I think it’s the case is that because of COVID 19, revision of the Pyramid has been put back to 2021, so the NCE Prem should retain its National Contributory League status for 2020/21.

No, it has been confirmed that the refereeing restructuring is independent of the football restructuring - NEC Prem will be a supply league next season (as will NWCP and NL1). Being involved in the old Supply League Yorks Pool, the FA have made this decision.

Ok - thank you for replying & the information contained therein which is good for me to know (& I had no idea this was the case until your reply).

Totally agree with you Russell.... and I had the privilege to work with you at Egham Town (Jamal Horne in the middle).

Depending on where you are - either the new Yorks Pool - which will be Northern Counties Eats Prem & Div 1 & West Yorks
or the United Counties Pool.

What you will be doing in mileage for refereeing is the same as you would have been doing as an assistant last season.

Don't know yet - I will still be allowed on the new Yorks Pool, so expect to be doing matches at Knaresborough, Selby, Garforth (NEC) and Sherburn / East Leeds (West Yorks). One thing, it will be more mileage as I don't have three clubs within 5 miles of home anymore.....

I don't know how many of the York observers will stay active in the new pool - a number will go back to NRCFA promotion reports or assisting the York League refs.

Yeah, but do you really want my marking scale on the new system; where a 70 will be the expected level - the average will be probably 2-3 points down on the old system.

So I take it the system to mark us has changed this year? A dumbing down so to speak??
