    Goal or No Goal?

Here's a simple one for you, 1 minute in goal or no goal?

    Back to Playing

I played Sunday, came on as a sub in a 1-0 win, I only played 15 minutes but massively enjoyed just being involved in a team again. You get that banter and can become involved straight away and it's the best thing about Sunday league, having a laugh. When I came on I got thrown in at right back...

    Back to Playing

He isn't my chair ahaha. The way I look it, I'm still young, I can't yet advance and I can't next season, I don't see the harm in two seasons and when I go to uni and probably move away from this team who I'm only playing for because I know all the lads, I can then concentrate on a promotion...

    Back to Playing

Thanks for the advice Jef, this was kind of where I was coming from when talking to my RA chair and I actually also talked to a former premier league and FIFA assistant referee. He seemed to be a bit tentative to support the advice of my chair, that's probably because he see's where I am coming...

    Back to Playing

I've thought this through thoroughly and is why I am only planning on doing this for maybe a couple of seasons. I have yet to start refereeing adult games and therefore will not be eligible for promotion next season. That means at least 1 full season where I can play and ref casually. Especially...

    Back to Playing

I asked the chair of my RA for some advice and it was basically don't do it, but I've really missed playing since finishing last season (u16's I am now 17). I have joined the local Men's team and will continue refereeing. This is partly due to me missing playing and partly due to me not enjoying...

    Open Age Calling 50/50s

If it's the kind of tackle where normally the players get on with it I'd leave it and have a word with the player and explain that they're 50/50, if you see a clear infringement you'll pull it up etc if you shout at me more it's a yellow for dissent that might shut him up.

    Referee wallet

I have thought about this, you might be able to work it out where you can just get the match card out itself without the yellow you'll have no problem. Otherwise I see your point.

    Referee wallet

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192049104401?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT A ref recently showed me these and let me have a few, they fit well over a card and basically I just clip my pen on both the card and the match card together so when you need it you have something...

A couple of decisions for you

Certainly what we all thought! You can see the nearest Scunthorpe player screaming at the ref and assistant and I can only think that they've come to the conclusion that the player ran into the goalkeeper instead of the keeper jumping into him, if you watch it, there isn't much forward motion...

A couple of decisions for you

It's hard to tell from the video but where I was no one second thought that it was a goal, from what I remember it was a fair goal but I'm not sure

A couple of decisions for you

The attacker headed the ball to the left before the contact between them was made

A couple of decisions for you

A clip from a Scunthorpe United game for you guys, against MK Dons back in October. A couple of early decisions which from the crowd looked clear cut I have to say (I was at the other end of the stadium for the 2nd one I point out). 1) Second clip in the video (starts about 20 seconds in)...

    Crystal Palace V Man U

I thought everyone was being slightly harsh on the team. First, all you hear is criticism on the referee himself even though they aren't all his decisions. For the Rojo one, you can see him presumably being told there was no contact which leads him to the yellow card. The Ibrahimovic handball...

Open Age Stamping Tackle (kind of)

Sounds like an indirect free kick not a direct kick and as you said a yellow card.

    Academy Game - tips?

I do Scunthorpe Academy and it seems since there is no competitive competition the players get on with trying to prove themselves with their football rather than kicking each other. You shouldn't get any problems with dissent or disrespectful players cause the managers usually shut that down...

    Man City v Celtic

Yeah I'm a Scunny fan and we've played them twice, one of the few teams to take a point from glanford park and they beat us 3-1 at their place in the FA cup so they're certainly a good team. I'll be stood on the terrace against Oxford on Saturday though:D

Bargain that;), League 1 football has been good this season!

    Pitches

In the top league in my area, only trained officials can make a decision on the pitch. It is different in the amateur leagues and the lower leagues but you either have to find a ref in the area or go do it yourself. So unless it states in the competition rules make sure the home manager is their...
