    recommendations for football boots

I have tempo's, they are fine when I'm in the middle I can do two 90 minute games without a problem, when it comes to crabbing, however, I will often get a pain on my toes and get blisters by the end. Also, destroy my calves, can hardly feel them by the end.

    Junior/Youth Behind my Back

Thanks for your advice guys, it is certainly something I need to work on, I've never really had to do match control and although I am a good ref, it is quite possibly my weakest point. I will take into account what you have said and try to use it next time I find myself in a difficult position...

    Club assistant referee - Responsibilities.

In my opinion, if a CAR is on his own left back and is giving one against his team I'd accept it. But I've never done it, I've been that CAR and so has my dad, both times my team mates insisted that we should have lied, but it's up to the ref at the end of the day.

    Junior/Youth Behind my Back

I did two games today, one at my local academy for U10's which went without issue as you'd expect. Next a local Junior league game, U16's. This game certainly did not go without issue. Started pretty innocuously, quite game back and forth, a couple of goals to the home side. One rough challenge...

    Minutes Silence

You won't be alone, I'll be doing mine at 2pm as well as well as one in the morning around 10:30. I would expect some will be done in midweek as well as teams will do it closest to the date rather than closest before the date.

    Cold/Numb Hands...

That one seems fair enough, goalkeepers wear them. The players likely choose not to wear them as it makes you useless at heading the ball. Although I don't if in law you can allow an outfield player to wear a cap.

    Early reflections

I've done the opposite for a college women's match. I had lined for the senior men's game and it was 45 minutes so I assumed (stupidly) that this was also 45. Longer and longer into the second half we go and the managers start to get confused. I'm not surprised as I ended playing 10 minutes more...

    Cold/Numb Hands...

The 'If you're moving' argument doesn't really work when you are doing small sided games, I did a U14s match and didn't get much running in through no fault of my own, I assure you I kept up with play very well in that game!

    Whitehawk v Stourbridge FA Cup

I think he thought the attack might've been over, the ball does go up in the air and if he had decided to bring it down instead of unexpectedly volleying it into the back of the net then we wouldn't be having this conversation.

    Cold/Numb Hands...

Does anyone have any suggestions for gloves? There are the skin-tight Nike ones but I'm not sure how effective they look.

Yellow or get away with it?

Ah right, I was not aware of that part of the law, my apologies

Yellow or get away with it?

Well it definitely isn't a red and the yellow is only given if it denies a promising attack, therefore, no I don't think a caution would have been correct.

Open Age Did I cause this ?

He red carded the player he called over, one for the initial challenge and one for dissent

    ''That's a yellow ref''

Sounds like you did fine, It's hard to prevent stuff like that. I feel the same in fact for appeals for fouls in general, for that you just need to be quick on the whistle. But if a player has stayed down you are obliged to check if he is okay, maybe as you're walking towards the player that's...

    Aims

Turn 17 tomorrow and hope to kick on with the promotion scheme next season, get some open age games in after the new year. The aim is the top... why not :p I've already been told I am a good Assistant and have been an assistant for a national league ref in a local friendly and he was impressed...

    Confrontation and Rectification

Pretty clear what the ref has done wrong there. First, he brings them away from the tunnel then proceeds to send them both off at the same time causing more trouble after. Should have brought them one at a time closer towards the tunnel and then send them off individually to avoid confrontation...

    Junior/Youth Youth Games & Cards

Considering you didn't issue a card I think stopping the game would have been wrong unless you pulled a card out. As long as you know the proper restart then don't be afraid to stop play to issue a card for dissent or OFFINABUS.
