Week 2 - the return of the big mac

Just to be clear, you are then saying that the second half of the LOTG is pointless since you can do what you want as it is all down to interpretation? Do you use the other signals both referee and assistant as outlined in the interpretations or do you just make things up as you go along? As...

    Advantage

Hypothetical question here. Player commits a foul but the opponent manages to keep the ball so you play advantage. The very next kick he plays it to a teammate in an offside position. Do you give offside, or pull it back for initial foul?

Week 2 - the return of the big mac

Personal preference, but, I expect everything in my games to be done in accordance to the laws of the game. The laws of game pg 102 clearly state the signalling procedure for a AR giving a PK and it says the AR must raise his flag (using buzzer if available) and move toward the corner flag - it...

    BOOTS!

We don't have this problem up here as we have coloured kits, but surely if referees can only wear black in England then why, oh why, oh why would a team buy a black kit? Crazy

Week 2 - the return of the big mac

I have to agree with @Padfoot here. We can't decide to forget rules or regulations set out in the LOTG to suit ourselves, and as such, we therefore can't on the same note make up new things for the LOTG. It is the same with the "walk the dog" signal when signalling that a player is in a tight...

Open Age OA having only referee up to u16?

I get more per hour refereeing, however, over a year, due to the close season and weather I get more working. I need to do 100 games a year to get the same as my job. I feel as if I could go for it but I just worry that it might be too big a leap and I then don't progress. Although, the...

Open Age OA having only referee up to u16?

Level 5 here means you have passed the LOTG exam and referee regularly whist also attending association weekly fitness training and monthly meetings. We only get assessed at u19 and above which I haven't did any of, although I have had a few refereeing friends out for informal assessments. If...

    2014/15 kit

I need to buy the badged kit from the official supplier. I like having the option to change kit colour.

    Red Card

Not so much normal but It is more out of hope than anything else the appeals. If you simply forget to say "I'm reporting you to the association" or "you are being cautioned for USB" they appeal although they never stand up since it was that person that was booked and it is only a technicality...

    Red Card

@Supermonkey @Ryan Owens Ive had an appeal for cautions, and had to appear at disciplinary hearings about them - none have been rescinded

    Red Card

I don't know where you referee but here, yellows and reds on standard misconduct forms can be and are appealed regularly. I feel your scenario is different since you witnessed the throwing if the punch and reaction as opposed to just seeing a reaction. Your scenario would easily be upheld...

    Red Card

If you didn't see it you can't give it IMO. Any retaliation should be dealt with accordingly. A good referee would get the match under his control again and any silly trips/retaliation would stop after a few bolllockings or cards

    Red Card

We had a game where i was AR and all 3 of the officials (me included) apparently missed a head but. The home team were fuming but obviously we didn't see it so couldn't give it. When the player was subbed the other AR heard him say he did head butt an opponent but we couldn't take action.

    Red Card

I'm the 23rd minute of the game I found it necessary to order from the field of play, joe blogs, number 100 for athletic fc for violent conduct. My attention was drawn to an incident at the half way line where a rovers fc player was lying on the ground holding his face. I approached joe blogs...

The Keeping The Laws Of The Game Fresh In Our Minds Summer Competition! Week 1!

Always name first for me no matter what. That way I know who I'm dealing with incase they decide to have a go at me or play funny buggers after I have shown the card and refuse to give me their name.
