    Level 4 promotions

Ryan I'd be working out which one of them weekends away you want to cancel or you won't be starting the season! There'll be alternative dates in August and September but you'll miss fixtures for at least that month if not the one after as well. Welcome to being a level 4!

    Nike Polo with County Badge

I wear short sleeve in middle and long sleeve on the line for Saturday football. I wear long sleeve for Sundays usually because I get cold. Obviously if weathers cracking I just wear short sleeve. Only time I wear long sleeve for NAR middles is if it's a slow game and it's a night time game...

    Coloured Kits

I don't referee for the money but my wife let's me do it because of it! I therefore don't care what I get fee wise, however it is slightly mad that I get less for doing a Supply League game than I would for doing a reserve team game at these grounds. However that's the deal and I knew that...

    Level 4 promotions

From a years experience of it I can categorically state that at 18 if I'd have been refereeing I would never have been ready! Not even close!

    New Level 4 Advice

74.14. Marks of 73, 72, 74, 74, 74, 75 and 77. I don't mind sharing - but people take note! It varies Pool by pool year by year!

Did they take anyone from that county? (I think it's best not to name which one)

A County NOMINATED 8/9 who were refused or did 8/9 get refused nomination? (There is a difference!)

    New Level 4 Advice

Top of B (12th of 58) for Observers. D (44th of 58 for Club Marks. I got a 7.0 for application of law in a game where I had 9 yellows and a red because of the shorts. I'd assume I'd have got an 8.0 without it. Which would have put me up to A. You live you learn.

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

For anyone who cares, and seeing though a few of you have liked it, here's my official feedback on it; From a boots on the ground standpoint as a referee I personally am not a fan of it for the following reasons (these aren't in order of my level of objections but my view on it). 1. I don't...

    New Level 4 Advice

I'm now officially no longer a newbie to this Level 4 malarkey so here's my feedback and advice. 1. Enjoy it. I know how much work you've put in to get to Level 4. So enjoy it, you'll have a season of firsts I suspect. First County Senior Cup appointments, first FA Competition appointments...

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

I was asked officially my opinion on this by one of my leagues. I got thanked for my 'detailed reply'. They then told me that it won't be happening in the league!

    Sin Bins - 17/18 Season

I've refrained from commenting on this till I could articulate properly what I think. Using it at Pro level is brilliant. Grassroots being the only place it starts at is wrong for the following reason. Answer the following questions. Do you get dissent from the team who's winning or losing...

    County Badge?

    1. Do you not have a Senior County Cup? I did that for the first time this season. Brilliant experience. 2. I've got my first County Cup Final on Friday. It was reffed by a L4 last year and the year before that. The other 5 OA finals have been reffed by 2 Level 4's - one of which has just got...

Why would you hope to not do County games anymore?

Kevin Friend - Middlesbrough v Man City

No it implies that they were annoyed the ref had been cheated. Therefore this is why they committed the act of dissent. All dissent has a root cause, if you issue a caution for dissent you should be looking for the reason why after the game. It helps development
