    Double touch

Question from my other forum, prompted by the Mitrovich incident recently. IF a player took a double touch from a FK (or GK) and the ball went straight to an attacker who stuck it in the net - could the referee play advantage and allow the goal? I'm guessing no, similar to a "foul throw" -...

    "it's not the Premier League"

Good man. I suppose I was thinking it might have been more effective if the league refused to give them anyone for a week or two, but I guess that would just lead to them appointing someone themselves and more chaos. Good luck with it mate - let us know how it goes.

    Weather frustrated few weeks

Did an AR duty on an ISFA U15s Cup quarter final yesterday afternoon. As the school has VERY decent facilities, they were able to move the match from their carpet like main pitch (As used by the All Blacks and Man Utd Women amongst others!) to an equally impressive 3G pitch. Excellent game - 2...

So the $64,000 question is - ARE you going to do the game?

    Fines for u/18 u/16 games

I saw and gave out a lot more than that. Used to be on the committee and treasurer was always complaining about fines - although I do think most were for missing/incomplete teamsheets, that sort of thing. Obviously after I qualified I used to do my son's club quite a lot - even after he left...

    Fines for u/18 u/16 games

I presume, this a little like schools can't legally charge parents for school trips, but always, or used to when my children were at school, add the rider "If sufficient funds are not received then the trip will not go ahead" If Under 18 I think clubs can't legally enforce a fine, but can of...

    "it's not the Premier League"

Ironically, as we all know, no way on earth is any PL player getting sent off for those words! So in fact, Mr manager was correct, no its not the PL, which is why you dealt with the OFFINABUS correctly! ;)

    Man Utd V Man City

A player 20 yards away is not affecting anyone's ability to play the ball, as I said above, influence and ability are totally different. Like others I can see both sides of the argument, can support onside easily, but not by a loose English language definitions of 'ability' and 'interfering'

    Man Utd V Man City

Interfering with play as defined in the LOTG is not the same as the general understanding of that phrase by everyone else. You should warn yourself against quoting phrases like that without quoting the specific LOTG definition that goes with it.

    Man Utd V Man City

This is the crux of the argument. Are the defenders/GKs tactical, if you like, decisions, affected by MR? - without a doubt, but like Micah Richards implying that just because the defender has "played" the attacker offside, he must be so, the law doesn't back either assertion up IMHO.

    Man Utd V Man City

Not sure you can look at Rusty's still and say that the GK gets there "very easily" before the Man Utd scorer - the evidence just doesn't bear that out.

    Man Utd V Man City

Its THE first criteria - as I often tell people ....................not that they listen to me :p
  15. P

    Man Utd V Man City

As I said, we can argue the last point, but by any criteria he is NOT "in possession"
  16. P

    Man Utd V Man City

Come on ES, FA don't make/amend the laws as you know.
  17. P

    Man Utd V Man City

Totally neutral as well, I think point 4 is arguable, but on balance as per LOTG, its offside.

You can also choose the womens pathway, which gets you to do the better womens games without venturing into the murky world of OA mens grassroots if you wish.

    2022 in Review

64 games last season, nearly 30 this so far. All written down in an old fashioned way, can't be bothered to look up red/yellows and collate into 2022 stats and no idea how far I've "run":p Is that helpful?;)

    Game called off at halftime

Yes agree with Rusty. Always going to get some moans when you call it off, but l would think more so if you do it at half time.
