My first (and currently only) red card incident.

Its the point of the forums isn't it? To help fellow referees better themselves through sharing knowledge and their experiences.

My first (and currently only) red card incident.

My thoughts exatly. Now that I look back on it, the caution was very trivial. Doesn't excuse the language, but I see that now, being a year wiser. Also, thanks for understanding and not impaling me for being a jerk :).

My first (and currently only) red card incident.

If it appears that way I sincerely appologize. Like I said, this was about a year ago so my exact reasoning has been lost to time, just the incident in of itself sticks out to me.

My first (and currently only) red card incident.

I don't think he intentionally did it, but either way he stayed down for quite awhile after he was hit and he immediately got back up, so either way he was going in for time wasting or feigning injury.

My first (and currently only) red card incident.

No it was more or less inflamatory in my opinion because it was a final and the team was losing, so I was prepared to give it for time wasting.

My first (and currently only) red card incident.

No I just needed to get this out there. Let's see if I can still remember a few things :p I cautioned him because he was causing dissent. When I was going back to him to assess the situation he had both his arms over his head acting like I missed something huge, which I thought fit dissent...

My first (and currently only) red card incident.

I remember it so vividly, even though it happened a year ago at this point. Tournament final, U-13 boys, one team from my state, one from Canada (didn't have much tolerance for canadian teams, as a prior game i worked with 2 U15 girls teams from Canada, one team gave me an earful.) On this one...

    Im a qualified ref, ref!

In the US it only states in most Comp Rules that it needs to be 5-15 mins. Nothing about referee's discresion but I personally want to get back to the action as soon as possible. Most teams agree, so normally don't have a problem. Never had a team use more than 10 mins, and certainly never had a...

Advice on RC form (player loses it and throws about 1000 punches)

I mean I see them get basically confronted on almost every call, but in MLS, that happens even on clearly obvious calls, like a yellow card.

Advice on RC form (player loses it and throws about 1000 punches)

I don't really watch American Football, I watch Football, usually the MLS in the US or the Premier League (I'm a Man City fan). I always noticed that Refs in the Premier League get somewhat more respect that the Refs in the MLS. It kinda disturbs me that I'm aspiring to be a ref in a league...

How is a ref paid in the US?

I know I'm a little late, but it don't hurt. For grassroots games, which is basically Grade 8's, 7's and the occasional 6 and 5, the refs are paid on-site, or sometimes the system they use is called RefPay. Refs such as myself don't like RefPay though. The one good thing about being a paid...

Advice on RC form (player loses it and throws about 1000 punches)

That is an understatement. Here in the US we don't have CFA's so if that happened in the States, we'd just have a hearing with the ref possibly going in as a witness. The referees in the MLS league are very harshly criticized by fans, even WC ref Mark Geiger. The US doesn't seem to like referees...

"I've never seen a ref do that before"

You're lucky man. Over here in the U.S., it's our offseason. I have to wait another 4 months before I get to ref again.

    not my best game

No. I'm talking about the Swedish referee who missed the Henry goal in 2009 to allow France to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

    not my best game

My bad. It was Martin Hannson.

    not my best game

Sounds to me like you did your best. That's why I think they don't take one bad game over alot of good ones, look at Martin Anderson for a prime example in the FIFA level. (I'm not sure I got that name right, someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

    Handball?

Going on what I learned over in the US, the handball situation is usually settled with no call. Usually, most "handballs" aren't deliberate and only about 2% are legit handballs. Plus, 6 words my friend, "In the opinion of the referee." It's ultimately your call. Now as for the reports, don't...

    Just can't be bothered anymore

I hate to see a fellow referee be in this situation. I referee in the US and this is my second year. I personally love what I do. I understand that many people drop out after the first year, but I honestly wish I could help the ones who are struggling out :(. Makes me feel bad that I am part of...

    Intro, I guess

@DanCohen17 the suburbs are where the parents are, let's just say, less than spectacular. Though, from what I read, England has it worse.

    Intro, I guess

@Dan. New York. But the suburban part. Not the City. I hate when people assume I mean City -.-
