@lincs22 Get your point ..but players telling you to work on your comms and confidence can be taken with a pinch of salt ? is that positive or negative ? Take advice from fellow referees and Mentors not players ?

On the above point mate ......never ask for or accept feedback from players .....shake the hands .....say well played or unlucky and get out of there .....! They are a very manipulative bunch ;)

I think its inevitable , within the next couple of years , that video evidence will be in use in some capacity !! Maybe a 3 appeals per team per match system ?? may be the way forward :cry: But IMO its definitely coming .

Actually....... I was involved in a pre season friendly last season with a level 4 and a 5 on the promotion scheme We done all of the above mentioned and when we returned to the changing room I blurted out a few age related expletives at them both as they were early 20s ......threw my sweat...

Think its more of a trailing eye thing to be honest Brian .....I tend to position myself just behind the penalty spot backing off to near the edge of the area then after the whistle its encroachment , kick, keeper , goal line all in the space of 2 seconds also looking for who is shouting "hes...

Got you now !!! I would still tend to get the book out whether it is scored or not ....you laying a marker for if and when it happens again ! That said ....sometimes its difficult to pinpoint the culprit

A penalty is a restart ? I Think Brian has nailed that one to the floor .

Because you know in your mind that this "sort foul " is going to lead to a goal in most cases . That is not our problem , its down to the players And the other point ....if you don't give the soft ones players start diving to make sure they are given ! Making our job even harder

Its back to the old PA debate ......anywhere else on the pitch that challenge was is Reckless You see it every week strikers being Clattered late after a shot and the penalty rarely comes ! this is the only reason people are making a song and dance about The Ref had the bottle to give it...

The harshest offence has to be adhered to Can you imagine the carnage if every missed pen when someone shouted something was downgraded to IFK :eek:
