    Quick IDFK in the box

It's the advantage of the attacking team to take the IDFK, as soon as the conditions for doing so, are met.

Final Boro Goal- Save or Attempt to Play the Ball?

Offside for me I cannot judge that he has enough body control to designate his movement as a deliberate attempt.

    Tottenham v Rochdale

Again I'm unsure how you can class his run up as incomplete when the very next action after the feint is for him to put his planted foot next to the ball, and then strike the ball. By definition, when is the run up judged to have ended?

    Tottenham v Rochdale

I'm really unsure on calling Son's run up incomplete He makes forward movement, stops completely (doesn't stagger) and his very next motion is to taken the PK, there is nothing between him feinting and taking the kick

    Tottenham v Rochdale

Could he have gone with defensive encroachment on that penalty? Caution and disallowed goal felt harsh. Must admit I was expecting a re-take, didn't realise it would be an IFK to the defending team. Always learn something new!

    Foreign Referees in EPL

No different to how players felt when the first big eave of european players came in around 20 years ago? There shouldn't be any sentiment surrounding nationality, the best league in the world should have the best people in the middle. Not really wanting to make this into a faux immigration...

    Foreign Referees in EPL

Something Ive been wondering about lately Is there a rule that stipulates that the top referees in the game, have to work in their country of nationality/citizenship? With the rights of players to move around freely expanding so much in the last 20 years , I can't see how this hasn't happened...

A small gust of wind would have made more contact.

    Legal goal from offside position

City might not have scored directly every time, but have using this all season, in response to teams pressing them so high. The match against Spurs being the best example. It helps that they've probably got two of a select group of keepers who can knock it 90 yards, and still put it on a...

    Wigan - Man City

But what is there in the tackle that meets the criteria of being a straight red? Reckless and a yellow - understandable conclusion Dangerous, violent or use of excessive force? I don't see it personally.

    Sheff Wed v Swans

Two players come together on touchline, its White throw. White player goes to take the throw. Blue player holds onto leg of white. (Foul play? drop ball restart?) White player then lifts and moves his trailing leg backwards into body of blue player (Violent conduct?) White player actually...

Of course, that goes without saying?

3 games in & im not convinced..

Where is your lack in confidence coming from? knowledge of the laws? physical/mental performance on the day? I'm the same as yourself, brand new to officiating, only a handful of games in, but despite the inevitable abuse, what's made it easier for me, is that I've made sure that I am...

    Liverpool V Spurs

Well he didn't deliberately play the ball to Salah himself, he deliberately played the ball and Salah intercepted. It falls under the same line of definition. Lovren meets this criteria as soon as he makes a delebrate attempt to play the ball, his technical limitations in regards to control and...

    Liverpool V Spurs

What the majority of pundits/fans don't realise, is that if Kane is offside for the first penalty incident, then so is Salah's for his first goal, its the same rule! Watching the blank expressions after explaining this is amusing.

    Liverpool V Spurs

Mark Halsey on twitter saying its offside as Kane is interfering with Lovren. But surely, going by the LOG.. 1) Kane is not blocking Lovrens attempt to play the ball 2) Kane is not making any gesture or movement towards Lovren, to deceive or distract So therefore, he cannot be interfering...

Referee kicks out at player during PSG match

Im sure its happened somewhere in uncivilised parts, but if things got really out of hand, could the middle official be in effect, 'sent off' and replaced by the 4th official? Similar to the process of injury.

    Wolves V Swansea

Miniscule? Tripping can have the highest probability of serious damage. A combined loss of balance and unawareness can have terrible consquences.

    Fleetwood v Leicester

Wondering if someone could help with this. For those who may not have seen it, I will try paint the scenario. Defender has, with clear intent, attempted to pass back to his goalkeeper, the ball then travels beyond the goalkeeper and towards the goal line, the goalkeeper uses his hand to...

    Wolves V Swansea

Running across the back of a players legs and tripping the opponent is one thing, or even attempting to gain possession of the ball and causing a tripping offence. But he's blatantly just kicked the wolves player with no intention or attempt to play the ball, for me it's VC and a RC. And that...
