    Foreign players

Couldn't agree more with @HertsFinest. If you're playing for a club in England, and you speak English you have no excuse to discuss the referee or say something towards the referee in a different language. It happened once when my school hosted some French students from some academy (basically...

    You are the Ref moment

They also like to make thier own rules up, which is even more infuriating. There's quite a funny thread about that somewhere on here

    You are the Ref moment

I know... I'm saying I would take the same course of action in the corner situation :-) I was simply pointing out that it's sometimes one of those rules youth players don't know or forget about :-) :-)

    You are the Ref moment

All I would have done is stopped the game, explain why I did it and let him take it again. I've done it a few times with players receiving the ball from a GK inside the box... Just stop, explain and let them do it again.

    You are the Ref moment

Don't worry @HullRef, at level 8 you've still got loads to learn ! I remember my first season I was giving offsides when the player was playing it behind him and all sorts ! at least no-one noticed yours... To be honest it's one of those moments in a game whereby when you see it you might miss...

Has anyone ever actually been 'Reported?'

Brilliant ! Perhaps one day they'll learn that sour grapes is not a reason to report a referee !

Has anyone ever actually been 'Reported?'

@HertsFinest you have to tell us the best one out of them ?!...

But he has ADHD ref !

I don't feel I have and I really couldn't care less if that's what you think. If I could go back to Saturday I would do the exact same thing again. Also, even though I keep explaining it... I did not "snap" or "loose my cool" I was very calm and concise when I spoke to him. Of course because...

But he has ADHD ref !

This all boils down to: If you give it out be prepared to have it back. There's right and wrong ways depending on the situation. In the case I discussed a little sh*t tried to berate me, instead he got a calm response that shut him up. I could have severely belittled him by like shouting in his...

But he has ADHD ref !

Trust me @Martiju I really do not get kicks out of "getting one up" on kids. The fact that the spectators laughed, bearing in mind some of them were parents from his own team, was unfortunate but what can I do about that ? If I enjoyed chewing kids or getting one up on them I would have been a...

Has anyone ever actually been 'Reported?'

It happened to me once and I'm actually so glad it happened because it was hilarious !... Away team lost 14-1 (ironically their only goal was from a soft penalty) but on the whole the manager was quiet and seem like a guy who's trying his best to run a poor team. Final whistle goes, I get a...

But he has ADHD ref !

The point is I didn't give him a drubbing ! I was very calm and concise when I spoke to him. Regardless of his "condition" (I'll say it again, it doesn't exist) there was no way he was getting away without a retort.

But he has ADHD ref !

I didn't belittle him, I pointed out that sometimes you have to take responsibility for what happens. It was unfortunate that some spectators took it in the wrong context and laughed. Chances are I won't see this kid again either. Plus which, judging by his attitude I don't think I'll be the...

But he has ADHD ref !

I was nothing but supportive and nice to that kid. If ANYONE, be they 15 or 50, questions my integrity or ability to referee a game they're going to get a mouthful back. I didn't shout, swear, get in his face ect... I simply informed him why he was wrong. In fairness I didn't think the...

But he has ADHD ref !

My game on Saturday was a u16 semi final which on the whole went really well. The only issue was a centre back who complained (at me) and shouted (at his own team mostly)... I could tell this kid had issues so I warned him and warned him again for good measure then eventually booked him for...

    Player makes dramatic save!

You can't assume the keeper would save that and players shouldn't be doing that sort of stuff anyway. Plus which I'm sure if you give a red for DOGSO no one would complain, however if you give a yellow for that, regardless of an explanation the faeces would hit the rotating blade

goalie cautioned for handling deliberate pass from team mate

It's never really happened in any of my games and its been a long time since I've reviewed that section of the rules. I know now haha. mod edit

goalie cautioned for handling deliberate pass from team mate

I would have thought the keeper can handle it in terms of if the ball is going in he can palm it away... But he absolutely cannot pick it up

    Manager walking around the pitch

Oh yeah I don't let anyone stand behind the goal, I never used to enforce it and when I didn't 9/10 someone would complain about someone being stood behind the goal. Therefore now for me "it's the sidelines or the car park". although 99/100 times I've asked politely and people have obliged; only...
