Netherlands V Ireland under 17s KFTPM

Ok, so after years of hard work you are selected to represent your country at a major tournament, you do well in the group stages and are given the honour of a quarter final appointment and during KFTPM the above happens and you tell the new keeper, dont worry i am going to ignore the LOTG, you...

Netherlands V Ireland under 17s KFTPM

My point was and is, the referee was right to have the new goalkeeper change shirts. Really is that simple. Very basic Law of the Game.

Netherlands V Ireland under 17s KFTPM

Of course you can force him to change shirt. Say what you like, in this scenario, in a game of this magnitude, he is changing his shirt. Simple as that. Grass roots then yes, i would use common sense.

Netherlands V Ireland under 17s KFTPM

This is not grass roots this is a UEFA European Championship. If the shirt was blood stained he wouldnt be wearing it, dirty and sweaty oh well. LOTG state that a goalkeeper wears a colour that is distingsuishable from the other players and referee. It doesnt say unless its the last kick of...

Netherlands V Ireland under 17s KFTPM

I wonder what the directive has been to the officials pre-tournament. Have they been briefed on clamping down on certain things and this being one of them? Just a thought. As for the shirt change, of course he has to change his shirt. He cant just go in goal with a green shirt on irrelevant of...

Pre match brief in centre circle

I agree with this @Men in Black, i am not sure where Hoof It is coming from? Using the captain is not being weak in the slightest. Are we not taught this? Stepped approach etc etc. I do agree that sometimes the captain isn't worth a carrot but there will be someone on that pitch that is...

Pre match brief in centre circle

@Men in Black This has been covered elsewhere a few times, search the forum and i am sure you will find other peoples views. Personally i say very little, in all honesty the captains arent really bothered what you say and wont listen or take notice either. Mine goes like this, "Enjoy the game...

    What would you do?

Hypothetical situation, what would you do?? For one reason or another both teams have decided a pre-arranged protest. The game kicks of, the ball moves 5 yards and all 22 players sit down and do nothing for 20 minutes. Just to be clear the ball is in play. What do you do?

My first taste of aggressive verbal abuse!

You keep saying your not a violent man etc etc and then say things like "Should i just knock the c*nt out". I have been on this forum for 6 years and i have never said this to anyone before but here goes, REFEREEING IS NOT FOR YOU. Judging by your other posts, where your lack of knowledge on law...

    Leaving the field of play

I know of a referee who, during a cup semi final cautioned all 5 subs who encroached on the pitch 5 yards to celebrate a last minute winner.

    Thw strangest thing happened...

A rare find @Ben448844 my game last night seemed to taking a similar route, first half i gave 3 fouls. Very little dissent, a good well balanced match, that was until the 70th minute. Striker breaks away around the half way line and defender comes across and takes him out, knowing exactly what...

    Transport Expenses

@CrazyKoalaman The FA dont cover expenses. The league fee is set and often travel expenses are added. Eg - £30 fee plus £0.28 per mile expenses. Some leagues have a set fee with no expenses, they are all different but the referee secretary of the league will tell you.

What's the point in Referee Association?

@JoeMaloney5 There are many benefits of being a member of the RA, they offer insurance and physio care, discounts etc. For me the main one is the society meetings, here you can mix with referee's from retired (but experienced) Level 10's, to fellow level 7's and in some cases as in ours right...
