Congratulations to any ref chat member on the list. Now i know its a bit of an "unanswerable" question but does anyone know when the 4's will be announced? My mate has been told it may be another 2/3 weeks!!! But why would it be that long?

Ridiculous absolutely ridiculous! Any ref that is prepared to caution a 10 year old goalkeeper for encroachment needs to have a long hard look at themselves.

Whilst you are correct in law are you really going to caution a 10 year old in these circumstances?

Of course you should be talking to players, i talk to players for the full 90+ minutes.

I once was told if you can handle 22 players on a Sunday morning then you can handle pretty much anything....Very true!!!

I have never heard this advice before and would suggest its absolute tosh. Assistants do subs, its pretty standard at all levels of football with NAR's. As Ross said if your closer then do it rather than have the assistant run up from the corner flag if you are 10 foot away.

So why did you only ref the last 31 minutes, why didnt you just ref the game?

That is exactly what i am saying, tipping the ball over the bar when you are not the goalkeeper is showing a lack of respect for the game, especially because he thinks he saving his team a goal.

Whats an assessor go to do with anything? I have justified it, a few times. It is a caution for unsporting behaviour, the player doing this is doing so because he believes he stopping a goal otherwise he would move well out of the way and allow the ball into the net and take a goal kick...
