    It's almost that time!

The match is already over; the KFTPM do not technically constitute part of the match so no need to abandon.

Joel Veltman throws sportsmanship out window...

I see your point but I think the difference is unintended. "Disciplinary action" here must surely mean showing red and yellow cards as a player or manager can be subject to a misconduct report for things that go on well after the game has ended. If a player abuses you in the car park after the...

    Barcelona appeal a yellow card!

From another thread: In the case of a claim of wrongful dismissal for offences with a penalty imposed under the Laws of the Game of an immediate dismissal (excluding Law S6, the use of offensive or insulting or abusive language/gestures or S7, receiving a second caution in a game), evidence upon...

    Alonso's Arm vs Bellerin's head

Loo Look at the picture...Alonso still has a foot on the ground a foot inside the box, Bellerin is about two inches off the ground and somewhere between two and three feet away.

    Alonso's Arm vs Bellerin's head

You need to watch it again. They take off at almost identical times and are about two feet apart when they take off both with their arms in very similar positions.

U12's - An inactive Sunday assistant!

I've posted this before but no harm in reviving it: CARs are: - OK if you restrict them to ball in/out - Very useful for helping with offside - Completely useless and should be discouraged whenever possible - Cheating *******s - Honest as the day is long - Completely ignorant - Surprisingly...

U12's - An inactive Sunday assistant!

I had a very similar assistant last season - he was one of the team coaches and not only was he continuing to coach but as I had told both CARs that they were not to give fouls he was appealing constantly - at one point he even appealed for a throw-in so I told him that it would be easier if he...

Tough offside decision - goal? Hyundai A-League

He clearly hasn't played the ball so it must be interfering with an opponent so which one of these? - preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision - NO - challenging an opponent for the ball - NO - clearly attempting to...

    West Ham v Manchester City

Has there ever been a City game where you have been happy with the refereeing?

    Just weird - Verratti

    No he didn't. He said:

Offside yes/no rebound off a defender

To be fair, in a lot of cases, it was people not reading the question properly.

    Marriner - city v tot

I'm not sure either but the more I think about it the more I think that the fundamental part of DOGSO is that a goal-scoring opportunity must be denied and in this instance Sterling had a shot on target and so the OGSO was not denied, just made less O. However, I also think (arguing against...

    Marriner - city v tot

In this instance Sterling hadn't regained his balance, his shot was arguably weaker and less well directed than if he hadn't been pushed. My argument is that it is perfectly acceptable in this instance to play the advantage, see that no advantage had accrued and give the penalty (but not give a...

    Food for thought

Why? They committed the foul, why shouldn't they suffer the consequences?

    Marriner - city v tot

I don't agree with the main thrust of your argument but I think that the idea that the opportunity was still there is interesting. There is no doubt that Sterling was fouled but a goal scoring opportunity was clearly not denied as he got a shot off, it was just made more difficult - something...

    Manchester City v Spurs

Because of the FA, FIFA, UEFA, PL and PGMOL conspiracy against City. They are all out to get you.

    Just weird - Verratti

What about if one player flicks the ball up and second heads it towards the keeper? I would think that the heading player has not used a trick so can't be penalised and the flicking player has used a trick but not to pass to his own GK so also can't be penalised.

    General ignorance

Does anyone know where the "rule" that has been posted there comes from? It talks about ungentlemanly conduct so either old or not official.

    Goalkeepers Shirt Colour

But in this case, if your choice is to wear only black then that choice is potentially taken away.

    Video Assistant Referee

I'm going to correct you...:) Rugby uses it for all sorts of things. I'm no expert in the range of circumstances but Eliot Daly was sent off against Argentina a few weeks ago following the onfield ref and the video ref looking at the offence with the onfield ref looking at it on the big screen...
