First match of the season done.

If the CAR is a named sub - red card. You can only hope. If not caution the striker for dissent, try to calm him down. Ask away team to replace CAR.

    Handball or Not?

Regardless of whether or not you think it's handball as this is a complete no win situation, unless the pen is awarded and then missed. Which decision will cause you the greatest harm in match control. Award nothing, shout accidental, no intent. The attacking team will moan for a minute or two...

    Muddy goal areas

Really shouldn't be an issue at this point of the season. You may find some small pools but probably not enough to walk away. If in doubt follow the advise above.

Can cause a problem with the dugouts for an AR at the dead end.

    Getting my first fixtures.

Our RDO appoints to the 3 main youth leagues around here. One on Sat AM, U8- U18, generally gets U12 up covered. The other Sat AM is up to U12, quite often the managers will need to find a ref. Sunday PM is U13 up and they pretty much get covered OK. The system started last season and seems to...

I use the blast for reds too. I've seen players duck before. It certainly lets them know there's a problem.
