    Review Electronic Linesman Flags

I always tell assistants that are not used to the buzzers that it is nice tool, but it does not replace the visual signal, so always raise flag and then look for button. I started doing this when I was waiting for an offside call and noticed the assistant was busy looking for the button and not...

    Review Electronic Linesman Flags

Not sure which post you are refering to, but of course the flag would be used, but it will be whilst buzzing. That way you won't miss that two foot tackle or the flinging arm when you switch your focus to see if the assistant has flagged

    Review Electronic Linesman Flags

I'm not really sure how I'd fit in to the UK level system. In Norway I referee at the 4th level and run the line at the 3rd. Many 4th level referees (me included) use them, and the majority at the 3rd level. The utility of the flags depends on the assistant, his experience level and how well I...

    Match cards

Don't think a power tank works reliably with the skins. Sometimes it does, sometimes it does not. Pencil works every time

    Match cards

I have been fortunate this season, only one game in pouring rain. That game I did issue an embarrassing amount of yellows though, (game went to hell when one of my assistants signaled for a penalty) and I could read them all after the game. I have bought a soft/bold pencil. A 4B, which I have...

    Match cards

Ah, I didn't know you were required to record the names on the field. Also, the match card really only works with a pencil. I switched from paper+pen to pencil+all weather match card+card skins this season. Took some getting used to, but now I am very happy with the combo.

    Match cards

I use this http://www.refsworlduk.co.uk/collections/cards/products/all-weather-match-cards combined with the card skins for the large B&D-style yellow/red cards.

5 red cards in five minutes

Credit to the ref. I think he remained remarkably calm. Not what we typically see in south american football

Well - what a breath of fresh air!

For me, this one of the areas of my game where I am still trying to find the perfect mix. The fact of the matter is that it will vary from game to game, depending on the players. What I preach to my assistant, and to myself, is that when I show a YC I want it to have an affect. Wether that is to...

Well - what a breath of fresh air!

I suspect the UK is the same as Norway, but as you progress up the ladder, you are not expected to dish out the cards for dissent. You are expected to "manage it". Too many yellows for dissent seem to imply that you are not able to manage a game.

Cool, I have been refereeing since 2004, so we might have met.

    Write on cards

In the middle in the third division, which is the fourth level. On the line, the second division (3rd level). 4th official in womens premier.

What I don't like with the laminated approach and the sharpie is that it doesn't really perform in cold/wet weather.

    Watches / Boots

I love my Nike Premier boots, lightweight and a very comfortable insole. They have a white swoosh though. (Would you could consider using a black waterproof marker on the swoosh, to make them all black?)

    Gomis Goal, offside?

Too long; didn't read :) Used to provide a summary, for people who don't want to read longish posts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TL;DR

    Gomis Goal, offside?

TL;DR What @Yacinho and @paulwfromtheden said As I tell my assistants before the match, when discussing interfering with play. "We must not forget that there is still something called a bad pass/clearance. It doesn't automatically mean there has been an interference"
