Hi guys,
Just wanted to check something regarding promotion.
During the promotion season, do I have to referee on a Saturday league as well as a Sunday League? Or can I just referee on the Sunday League? The reason I ask is because I seem to have no free time at the moment what with work and...
The League that I referee on has a rule that if a player or manager is sent off in a cup final, they are not allowed to collect their medal during the presentation. They do receive one later on in the changing room.
U16s KO Cup Final betw2een Whites and Blues. Whites are known for iffy behaviour anyway. Game starts off really well, end to end and Blues go 1 nil up.
About 17 minutes in, Whites appeal for a corner but I give a GK as I wasn't sure who got the last touch. Cue Whites striker saying "you must be...
The assessor was actually a good friend of mine as I have worked with him on numerous occassions. He said that because the CAR apologised to him he will let it slide.
Adult game today. Blues v Reds. Blue CAR is a referee on the league and helps out at the club on occasion. Bloody hell he was hard work. I was being assessed on this game, bear that in mind. I ask both CARs to do ball in and out amd offsides only. This guy (who says he has 29 years experience)...
The guy I spoke to said that the websitr needed updating. Anyway, spoke to the RDO this morning who asked me to put whatever games I have done in an email to him (including lines and U18) and he will look at it
Applied for promotion during the 2016/17 season. Checked with the RDO's assistant/deputy with regards to criteria. The old criteria was I had to referee 20 games (minimum of 14 must be adult matches) before applying. He told me that they have scrapped that. Due to this information, I didn't push...
The youth league I ref on hosts cup finals at two local Ryman League sides (Witham Town & Burnham Ramblers). The first finals day is on the 13th of March. There are 3 games and there are 3 officials there for the whole day. We each get 1 middle and 2 lines. I have the honour of having the middle...
I have heard that as well. It is probably to ensure the game runs smoothly without players constantly getting confused. Because it is a KMD, most refs I have been out with have always maintained that if there are no appeals, no penalty
1-0 at this point. AR Stephen Child flags for a FK to Southampton after Kenedy commits a foul, Martin Atkinson then plays the advantage to Chelsea who go on to equalise!! Poor from an experienced PGMOL referee
I support Chelmsford City, Braintree's biggest rivals. I found this rather satisfying, even more so when today I am refereeing with a mate of mine who supports Braintree!
Does anyone else do this? I usually wait between 1 and 2 seconds to see if an advantage can be played or to give myself a bit more thinking times when it comes to KMDs such as penalties.
Usually this leads to shouts of "your going with the shout ref!!" or "Make your own mind up ref!!" etc.
