Junior/Youth They're coaching from both sides ref??

Even with dugouts I'm not gonna be forcing anyone in there. Seems really pedantic to me anyway, what difference does it make? Why is it a bad thing letting coaches give all their players advice to improve, not just the ones that can hear? No idea if Respect is a thing up here or not.

    Poor, poor game

When a game starts going into double figures I'll just run about everywhere, even the most basic of goal kicks sprint into the area as if it's the hardest sell in the world, try get a decent workout from it otherwise I'll be miserable, the worst kind of games in my opinon

Junior/Youth They're coaching from both sides ref??

Saturday's U13 game involved the Blues coaches taking up a position on one side of the pitch alongside the Blacks with one Blues coach on the other side. Most of my youth games naturally spell one team on each touchline but the normal thing for this particular venue is having both teams on one...

Your "go to" phrases that you always use

Brilliant Mikey, bit embarrassing when my generation actually use text speak in real life!

How long should I take before moving up the ages?

So my league is short of refs for their afternoon games which involve U16s, U17s and U19s ages. I currently do U13s and U14s. Been refereeing since March so I'm not exactly as experienced as the English lads that have been doing it since age 14 and are at open age level at 16. What would you...

    We're a diverse lot....

16, sitting Highers (Scottish version of A-Levels) this term, started refereeing in March and it's given me something interesting to do, Heart of Midlothian supporter (hiya Beezer) hoping to study journalism. In 70 minutes I make as much money as my friends do all week

    What law would you change?

Make OFFINABUS the only possible sanction for celebrations.

    Match Fees

They're very lenient about their lines, I'm a 16 year old Category 7 and was let loose at a Junior ground

    Match Fees

All local youth games - £40  Pro youth - £35 Semi-Pro OA - £45 Semi-Pro Assistant - £22.50 So an OA Semi-Pro game with sometimes hundreds of paying fans gets you £5 more than the local 12 year olds that I do :p

    Minute silence

Yesterday I'm fairly sure there was a few from one team chatting away...just gave them a disapproving look

    Dissent from injured player

So in today's game oranges player is tacked with a fair bit of force due to the comparative size of his opponent but in my mind 100% fairly challenged. The ball trickles out for a goal kick after some shielding and then I see the orange player is on the ground, thumping the turf and clutching...

    One Sided Game

I absolutely hate refereeing the classic 20-0 mismatch cup thumpings! Especially at U13 level where the thumpee team is experiencing it for the first time: the bawling at each other, the silence in front as you walk back to the changing rooms...for me it is awful to see and I'd rather a game...

    Unpopular Goalkeeper.

I do love when dissent comes back to bite a player in the backside

Do you remember giving your first red card?

Yellow - in Scotland we aren't subjected to such archaic rules as you are.

Do you remember giving your first red card?

Was a pretty poor decision, opening day of my first league season two months ago, game had a bit of bite to it due to the actions of the Blacks players throughout. My first yellow was about 5 minutes before and there were no qualms so I was feeling confident after that and perhaps as a result...

    Gary Neville

I am a man of the Sky Sports persuasion so I see Neville far more. I think it's the fact you can see his face as he spouts his bile
