Hampton admits throwing Spain GK's penalty notes into crowd

Right if we notice this as a ref should we caution or not!

    MOAS "Provisional" Appointments

Lots of good info above about how these are being used more this season. I have seen it myself with a Step 4 AR appointment.

    Luton v Wimbledon

@Russell Jones @JamesL @socal lurker you were correct and I'm glad this came up for me now rather than later!

    Dropped ball IFAB confirmation

Following from this thread. I may be in a minority of one who read too much from the Law 8 change, but this may be of some use to others in case of any doubt. IFAB has confirmed via email that when play stops from the ball changing possession after striking a match official, the ball is...

    Women's football

Be on top of jewellery / equipment. Participants may be accustomed to a lower threshold for fouls. I find there tends to be fewer verbal issues but when it occurs can escalate quickly, so be alert as usual! Finally I would say there is often less appealing for decisions so don't be deterred from...

    EFL 2 August incidents

Yeah I was imagining a possible appeal along the lines of 'advantage played so was wrong to go back to the foul', though this was quick enough to go back in law so shouldn't really be a successful argument, it can look like giving two bites when signalling like that.

    EFL 2 August incidents

I'd say it's a stretch to say he didn't signal advantage when we see his arm signal first and then only blowing the whistle when the GK won out in the following challenge. Don't think he'd have blown if the attacker had got past! Second one there is a closer angle that was shown on ITV...

    EFL 2 August incidents

Walsall v Swindon (2:01) - player sent off for DOGSO despite advantage being signalled, wonder if Walsall are appealing it MK v Oldham (0:30) - missed penalty decision but then a good spot for simulation on the next highlight

    Luton v Wimbledon

The language is 'has or would have' and we know who 'has' possession when play is stopped for this.

    Team sheet

All my leagues have been paper, except the Northern Counties East (Step 5/6) which is electronic and until now used 'Grassroots Live' (run by RefSix, not integrated with RefSix) but this season is using Football Web Pages.

    Luton v Wimbledon

I'm happy with this being the intention, as it is absolutely fair, but I don't see how the Law 8/9 text written as it is actually tells us that. I think Law 8.2 needs a tidbit adding to disregard contact between ball and ref when determining possession.
  14. C

    Luton v Wimbledon

I can't see any video, have you put the wrong link? It would make some sense if the intention of the law is to prevent sudden counter-attacks. i.e. ball hits referee leading to a change of possession, everyone gets a chance to set up again even if it is a different team with the ball now...

U18 Professional Development League - Match Fees

The above is correct, and the fee for middles is £75. For midweek afternoon kick-offs there is an additional £15 allowance per match official.

    Luton v Wimbledon

IFAB's FAQ in Law 9 confirms it has changed.

    Luton v Wimbledon

68th minute, poor AR wiped out in a collision but he's OK!
  18. C

    Luton v Wimbledon

49th minute, Luton kick ball which deflects off the referee and is clearly going to Wimbledon's possession. Referee drops to wrong team (Luton) and from the wrong position under the updated law? Caveat: watching without sound so not sure when the whistle went, but to drop from that position...

    Captain's Only

Even before 'captains only' we have had wide discretion in how we want to manage players. We could (should) give dissent cautions for being surrounded or for players refusing instructions to go away if we want to speak with the captain alone, regardless of a specific rule. Competitions have to...
