    Cup Final Kit

For me it's an acknowledgement that you've done well throughout the season. You're a selected few which makes it an honour. You then have the opportunity to showcase your skills in front of your CFA. People in key positions will be watching such as your RDO. Of course, if you mess up then you'll...

That's pretty much how it is in West Riding. The 'elusive' tie.

You'll never guess who i had as linesman......

Still wouldn't be the oldest official I've been out with by about 9 years! Plenty of life in your refereeing yet!

You'll never guess who i had as linesman......

Heard that many times. Promotion isn't just about going all the way to the top. It's not all or nothing.

This is why a referee should contact the home manager....

The lack of contact is something I imagine all referees have encountered at some stage refereeing on Sunday League's. I know my league would be very annoyed if I just did nothing due to a lack of contact. The correct way in my eyes is a mix of what a few do. If there is no contact by Friday...

    In or Out?

The scaremongering from the leave campaign is also ifs, "if we stay X will happen". The Leave Campaign is based on a lot of unknowns, as if the Stay Campaign.

    may have juuuuuust been onside...

The post-goal offside always looks awful but is difficult to avoid in some occasions. To the non-referees it always looks like the referee has gone over and told the AR to give offside.

    In or Out?

Each side claims the other is scaremongering, but in reality both sides are scaremongering.

In WRCFA we got a tie and a pin but had to buy a badge if we didn't have one on our kit since we were required to wear them.

    Rest and Recovery

I often use protein shakes just to increase dietary protein after a strenuous match to keep up with the increased demand for protein digestive products in order to repair any tears for example. Same applies post injury but it's useful if you suspect something is going to really hurt in the morning!

First time i've ever done that.......

No, I tried telling him I didn't mean it, but after the 6th hit he didn't believe me :(

First time i've ever done that.......

I once hit a player with a flag... Player runs behind me, flag goes up for the throw-in, he runs under it as I'm about to put it down. By his reaction, it hurt. A flag that goes up must come down, his own fault.

Did he? Must have missed that.

    Vardy's dive

Did anyone think that Moss missed a great opportunity to pull the players out for pushing and shoving prior to the corner that lead to the first penalty? I thought it looked not great by the fact he ignored the pushing and shoving and allowed the corner to be taken, and then gave a penalty for a...

    Advice required...

Given that for some games you have to be there an hour and a half prior, I very much doubt that.

You could do this as long as he is aware you can only take him to the game. Please, do not not tell him you can't give him a lift back.

    BPM in a match

My resting HR is sub-60 which is a bit on the low side. My in-match HR is about 130-150, more often 140's. Peaks at around 160-180.

    Sunday football on Thursday

I've had two Thursday 'Sunday League' games this month so far and they were quite different. The latter was full of dissent and awful to officiate (partly because of the weather). The first of the two the players seemed to be too tired to moan. It was a warm day, quite sunny, maybe that played a...
