The idea of video referees seems to work well both in Rugby and NFL.
The problem being in these sports there are lots of natural stoppages which doesn't always replicate into the footballing world. In these sports the video referees decide on matters of fact and generally there are only 2...
I only ever us two pairs of boots:
Adidas mundial team astro trainers and copa mundial moulded boots.
I wear the mundial team trainers on all astro surfaces and on grass pitches for most of the season. When the weather gets really wet and pitches are muddy or soft I change to copa mundials...
Seems strange not to have team lines.
Every game in Scotland must have team sheets and ref must note score and subs played on team line before posting to the League secretary.
Not entirely true, I've never done it as any time the shirt was unbadged I used some double sided tape to apply a badge but I have seen many officials over the years without badges on their shirts and never been issue.
@MalB if it's the goalkeeper that's throwing it can only be yellow...
.... Unless the GK has violently thrown an object at someone then it would be red
@xPositor sorry if my reply was confusing. First of aall a red card cannot and must not be issued in this situation, it cannot be DOGSO as a goalkeeper cannot be sent off for handling the ball in his own penalty area. The Laws do not allow for it and anyone suggesting it us just plain wrong...
This is certainly an interesting debate and shows that the wording of the Laws aren't as clear as we would like at times.
However in no circumstances can a red card be issued in this circumstance. The offence of throwing something at the ball, is counted as a handling offence.
The laws are...
It all really depends on the volume and if it was actually having any negative effect on the game.
After warning them once, I would be yellow carding one of the 2 players. If it happens a third time then either yellow the other 'offender' or give a 2nd yellow to the other (and then watch the...
Not quite sure if it is my worst decision (there have been plenty over the years) but certainly is my weakest and still niggles at me to this day.
I was once refereeing in a foreign youth tournament and was given a fairly high profile appointment, one team were from USA and the other from South...
Actually no it wasn't... It was the same as the 2012-14 range used in many other European countries.
Not really worth a bet- adidas have no need for a black and white kit, they don't really need the 'English market' when they have UEFA/FIFA and the majority of world football who are happy to...
It is no different to south of the border and never has been. Windass was only shown 1 red card and then further reported for a number of cases of misconduct.
Unfortunately the scottish media cannot understand this and report 3 red cards etc
Well technically they can (or in this case have) however if that is binding or not is another argument.
National FA's can issue guidelines on the Laws but they shouldn't contradict/change the law. In many cases (eg USSF in the States) they have issued a huge set of guidelines many of which...
Im sure that I've seen before that you are a referee in Scotland... In that case your 2 separate reports are correct.
If it is a second(or more) incident the original red card is reported on the SFA sending off report and then the following incidents reported on a separate incident form/letter...
@Padfoot I don't diasagree with you, but the Laws of the Game presupposes Neutral AR's.
I'm sure in the older version of the LOTG prior to the 1997 rewrite there was a section about non neutral linesman(as they were in those days) somewhere
I just find it strange that such important decisions...
I've always found the differences in opinion on the role of club ar's to be fascinating.
Here in Scotland Club AR's(when used) are only allowed to signal that the ball is out of play, they aren't even allowed to signal direction. So for someone used to this situation it always seems a bit...
@SM im not sure what I need to tone down. This is a very simple issue,I have no idea why there are referees that cannot understand this Law
@Duncan Francis the goalkeeper cannot be guilty of any misconduct relating to handling the ball within the PA...that means no card whatever the...
NO NO NO
The offence is the goalkeeper touching the ball with a hand...that includes picking it up, palming it away, using a fingertip to touch the ball etc.
It's quite a worry that so many referees can't understand what is a very simple part of the Laws
