    Thoughts.....

For me, red card for serious foul play. Ill timed, high (above the ankle) and studs showing. The fact the ''commentator'' refers to it as a ''leg breaker'' says it all in my opinion. I would have no issue getting the red out there.

    Reading vs Fulham (Teamsheet)

Imagine the arm ache after sending that lot off!

Is this decision in the spirit of the game?

I had this last Thursday, little bit different in that it was in a 7 a side fixture, where the subs at this particular league have to stay behind the goal line where there is no barrier (something I don't agree with, they should be at the side but that's by the by). Ball was going out for a...

    Blood subsitutions

One of the beauties of lower level park football in my neck of the woods, most leagues are rolling subs. So on the odd occasion when this happens they can roll them on and off any way (obviously still checking that bleeding has stopped).

    RIP Ugo....

Always used to sign him up for Man Utd on Football Manager in the days before Rio and Vidic! Legend in my eyes!

Was I too harsh? Or maybe even too lenient?

Laws of the game hard copy..

Just to update those interested, I emailed my RDO, he said he didn't currently have any but would be getting some more in June/July time with the amendments and that he would reserve one for me (I assume free of charge ). Therefore I suggest an email to your respective RDO should heed...

Reporting - How good a witness are you?

Although my comment was tinged with sarcasm, I must say I never once implied i beef it out with "needlessly wordy waffling". They are indeed simply detailed, direct and arguably much easier to deal with for the CFA in my experience

    Defensive FK

You are correct sir my bad! Well spotted!

    Defensive FK

I would say that was perfectly fine, made to retake due to playing it inside box. Law then still applies to taking it any where in the box and then was taken correctly in my book! Referee sounds like they got it spot on.

    Defensive FK

Law 13 will tell you, 1) a defending FK in the area can be taking from anywhere, so no problem there, but 2) the ball MUST leave the area for the ball to be active. There is nothing that says the defending time cant be in the box when he takes it, as long as it isn't played until it leaves the...

    Booking for Dissent

For me dissent is a gut instinct thing...if you hear something you don't like once, have a chat, after that, book! Job done...if it continues send 'em! I have a very simple rule that I tell every player before every game, I'm at the game because I love football, I'm not there to be sworn at or...

Reporting - How good a witness are you?

My CFA hate my reports, coming from the Policing background I tend to write almost court worthy statements...never had a card disputed let alone overturned once they've read the full 10 pages ;) That being said, any one ever want any help to beef up a good report gimme a shout!!

Fouled player can be booked for exaggeration/simulation?

I agree with CapnBloodbeard, I would more than happily book someone for ''theatrics'' after being fouled. I wouldn't be showing the caution for simulation though, it would for me be unsporting behaviour, in the very same way I caution people for the magic invisible yellow card wave, if your...

Laws of the game hard copy..

Congrats on the promotion firstly! Yeah my county (Gloucestershire FA) don't offer it as one of the extras. The insurance, benevolent fund etc are all on the ''extras'' paged but a Law Book is nowhere to be seen, already done the reg for next season. Might just email my RDO

Laws of the game hard copy..

Does any one know where I can get hold of a hard copy of the IFAB LOTG?? I have the obligatory copy on my computer and iPhone that I can refer to when needed but I want a hard copy that I can brush up on more conveniently? I've tried eBay, Waterstones, WHSmith etc. and cant seem to find anyone...

    80 minute game?

Yes this is within the LOTG, as long as it's agreed before the game and both halves are of an equal length. You can't just change your mind midway through. I believe without having my book to hand you can go right down to 35 minute EW. It'll be law 7 - duration of game if you want to have a look.
