I had to give up playing when I started refereeing. It's hard to do the same leagues because players know you, plus as a player if a referee makes a mistake, you take it to heart more, because you know the laws of the game. If you can do both then fair play to you.:)

Got to say I've stopped doing boot checks for lower level games. It just seems pointless most boots are covered in mud so you can't tell anyway.

Put an elastic band on your wrist. Give it a pull ever so often that will get your focus back. I hear a few premier league AR's use this trick..

I don't have a coluored one but I did have a team who played in black this week so had to use a purple training top. I recon if you want a coloured one then get a cheap one as you won't use it that often.
