    Manager dissmissal

Good on you for removing them, from what I've seen I feel we let coaches/managers get away with murder. And as you said, they act like that then the kids inevitably end up doing the same. I've removed one manager before, and I felt it knocked my confidence to. So I asked our appointments...

    Lost his head

The article even says "you’ll understand why the shaven-headed Favarin has been disciplined so strongly". 5 months for that is not strongly disciplining...

    First game appointments

At that level you'll definitely still have an uproar when cautioning someone. You'll get the usual they're only kids, it's youth football etc etc, but as Ciley mentioned the LOTG still need to be followed

    Abusive parent

I agree with the Capn, are you really going to allow that parent to abuse you throughout the game? A perfect example came up in our course where a parent was sent away for abuse and another parent (they all know each other) would assume responsibility of the child's welfare until being back with...

    Abusive parent

I echo this. This was an area where they went into good detail on our course, as most of us would be doing a fair bit of junior football. If you were to abandon the game, you can be sure that whilst they may not entirely be happy with you, the club/players/parents will not be happy with that...

    Something I found interesting

PK is correct for me, I'm assuming the below reference in the LOTG is the reasoning: "play is restarted with a free kick on the boundary line nearest to where the offence/interference occurred; a penalty kick is awarded if this is a direct free kick offence within the offender’s penalty area."...

    Jewellery Again

And are we going to not enforce those 4 examples because "some" referees don't? This thread is genuinely worrying to see as a relatively new referee that some are picking and choosing which rules to enforce

    Jewellery Again

We're not discussing Premier League here (unless we have a few hidden Prem refs), we're discussing the LOTG that we apparently don't follow at the below levels

That's one, you promised plenty :)

    Jewellery Again

Could I have these examples of LOTG we're choosing to not enforce?

    Jewellery Again

Or we have all referees follow the LOTG and prevent them from playing. When we're allowing one LOTG to not be followed, do we then pick and choose which others we enforce?

    Saints v Spied on Derby

I can already hear the coaches, players, managers and spectators screaming and demanding why offside was given when it was millimetres close

I think its Blackburn, cant tell. v Newcastle

This is definitely one area of the offside rule that was drilled into us on the course. Before, I was under the impression that any rebound from a player resulted in the attacking player not being offside. Our RDO for our callback exam went through some useful situations he found himself in...

    Autistic Player

It's a difficult one, especially with the differing opinions on the one arm thread. Playing devil's advocate, imagine if more and more teams told you a player had autism so that player could get away with pretty much anything. For me, it doesn't change the LOTG for that individual.

Do I have to put every match I do on WGS?

Personally I do, preference just so I have a backup record of my games. Though seeing as it doesn't ask for things like scoreline, or other non-card giving events, I tend to prefer my own dashboard to be updated as well

    0-0

I started noticing that the sides that lost, 90% of the time another player took the goal kick. With two in the box, you've got all the forwards onside. I know it's usually because they can take a better goal kick, but I really wish the coaches would point it out as it's resulted in some pretty...

    0-0

34 for me with no 0-0, interesting to compare our stats as we're pretty level on games: Useless stats: 34 games, 116 home goals, 61 away goals My first game was a 1-1 draw :D

    Exam night !!!!!!!!!

Very similar experience to my course. Out of 15, 3 of us were over 18. Out of those 3, I'm the only one that has refereed an actual game so far. When the U18's were asked why chose to do the course, most replied with "it would look good on my CV".

    Smartwatch w GPS - Ticwatch S

Got the Ticwatch E when I started, and has been pretty good. I know I'll get two full OA games out of it before it needs a charge. The only issue I've had is it tends to go mental in the rain so I have to resort back to the standard digital watch and card sheet.

    Cornwall FA

Devon for me so just over the pond. Might be worth considering affiliating with Devon FA (I assume you can affiliate with multiple FA's?) as there are a number of their games played in Cornwall in various leagues. So if you're close to the border it may be worth it.
