    A recent game by me!

I'm saving that line for that situation 😂

    A recent game by me!

They seem to always have a set of bibs to put on, but I don't understand why they don't just wear their away kit to save the hassle of potentially having the game called off. I've not had to say no game yet due to clashing (touch wood)

    A recent game by me!

It's the away team in my leagues. Still doesn't stop them turning up in the same colour despite it never being the first time they've played each other or the fact the colours are all in the league handbooks 😒

Violent conduct in younger age groups

You leave Devon out of this :D. Had VC in one of my first U13 matches, was given the red as he would at any age

    Best Holdall/Kitbag

Only 8?? With the yellow weather warning we have in the South West I'll be wearing my entire wardrobe

    Coin toss

Have you got a location of where you found that the referee tosses the coin in the LOTG? Just had a look but I could only find references to the winner, not the toss taker

    Coin toss

Interesting to know that's a thing

    Depressing

That was an immediate thing I picked up also. That exact scenario was brought up on our course: anything like that, just abandon the game and get the police involved.

    Best Holdall/Kitbag

Definitely get one with a boot compartment. It's a life saver after a muddy field.

    Coin toss

Why are you making the home team toss the coin?

    AR Signals

Just what I'm after! Thank you very much. I really do need to pay equal attention to that section of the LOTG as well as the main Law sections. For reference in case anyone else has missed that section on page 200: Goal – no goal When it is clear that the ball has wholly passed over the goal...

    AR Signals

Hi all, I've started running the line on a few matches to get some experience from that side of things. One scenario popped in my head during my last outing, where the attacking team's shot came down off the crossbar onto the goal line and then remained in play. The defending GK then picked it...

    Penalty Shoot out

I think Brian means the fixtures secretary as to them knowing the rules. I don't think I've had one match where both managers know the rules of the league/competition. As you said, I could ask them to play tiddly winks to decide who takes the first penalty kick and they wouldn't be none the wiser

    Aches and Pains

As Tino mentioned, think about what you can do on non-game days too. 5k/10k/shorter runs here and there will improve your body ready for game day. On game day, make sure you have enough nutrients in your body that you're not regretting having that extra pain au chocolat 5 minutes into the game...

    What’s your Ref routine?

"I don't do a pitch inspection" "Jewellery I will check when walking past" Surely you're opening yourself up here for an observer to pick up on a few things, not to mention those two things are related to LOTG

    What’s your Ref routine?

Be the one that stands out. I've had countless "you're the only one that takes the teamsheets, only one that checks the footwear/jewellery etc etc", doesn't mean I'll follow the lead of the other refs

    County Cup weekend

I would usually put all my fixtures into a dashboard when I initially get them. But in recent weeks it's almost guaranteed that I'll be moved up to some higher age range matches due to a lack of refs, so the dashboard only gets filled out on the Friday

    What’s your Ref routine?

I started asking for the fee before kick off so I'm not chasing them after the match. Refereed a Veteran's league the other week where it was in their league rules to only pay the officials after the match :|

    Hard Tackles

No argument from the player, if that was me maybe a word to the defending player. IF he was to miss the ball that's gonna be quite the foul, but that's playing the IF game
