Off the ball incidents and out of view of the referee

I had one where the ball took a wicked deflection off someone and came towards me, so I did my best to try and get out of the way as there was a player from each team bearing down on me, one on either side. Both players crunched each other right behind me. Cue one set of players and supporters...

    Teamsheets

I don't think I've actually ever taken a players name when I have cautioned them. I just make a note of the number and then his name is whatever is on the team sheet. Have been coached this way as well. I guess the line of thinking is that team sheets are accurate and if they are not then it is...

    Teamsheets

Ah, so it's a league thing governing whether or not teams have team sheets? I certainly find that team sheets make everything a whole lot easier and can't believe that some leagues don't have them mandatory.

    Teamsheets

I'm not an English referee and I guess this is mainly an English thing, but why are team sheets not compulsory for every game? I've been seeing lots of people on here talking about not having them. Where I am we start refereeing at u13 level and team sheets are compulsory even at that age...

    Apple Watch

I guess with a stopwatch function it would probably be ok, but do you really want to running about with such an expensive gadget on your arm in case it gets damaged during the game?

    Christmas Gifts

Got a new Adidas bag to cart all my stuff around in but it doesn't have side pockets so it looks like I'm going to have to invest in an organiser. Looks like @Ross has none in the store though ;)

    Some rather alternative LOTG challenges

Unless his surname was actually " You knobheads" and his number was 69, then he wouldn't be entering the field in the first place as it wouldn't match the team line.

player refusing to give hes name

If he doesn't give a name, report him as his shirt number and note that he gave no name. If he gives a false name, report him as that name and then write a separate report for the team not having filled in the team lines correctly. That's my viewpoint anyway.

    First time using comms kit

It went really well @HullRef , was a bit strange at first but towards the end I was getting quite comfortable with them. It was the Vokkero Squadra that we used. one of the best available. https://www.refsworld.com/vokkero-squadra-vok-squad-06-audio-kit.html

    First time using comms kit

Hi guy, first post here, not sure if this is the correct section for this or not. I've got a game coming up shortly, I'm AR1, and I've been told by the referee that he will have a comms kit with him and I've never used one before. I've been reffing for almost 4 years, running lines on a...
