    Unintentional violent conduct...

I really feel sorry for Mike Dean.........Not for me.. Dean has been in the game long enough, he could have viewed the monitor and said No to the red card, it was so obvious that Soucek was just lifting his arm to avoid it being held....not deliberate and not even reckless for me.

    Grass Roots Season Curtailment (?)

Common sense would suggest this current season be cancelled at Grassroots level.....with schools unlikely to re-open until March and leagues to complete their fixtures by the end of May I cant see them being completed. Some teams in my local league only played one official league game whilst...

    Inter v Juventus

I understand what you are saying but there was no chance of anyone reaching the ball, no officials saw the incident OR didn't consider it an infringement and it was VAR who informed the Ref to look at it .......if you have an AR wave his flag because he's seen a player pull an arm of an opponent...

    Inter v Juventus

I understand Peter about the foul anywhere on the pitch...ie a kick out or punch for violent conduct but is was a pull on the arm when the ball is 40 feet in the air. It gives the potential for every attacker to drop to the floor if they feel contact when they've no chance of reaching the ball...

    Inter v Juventus

Just been watching the Italian Cup match.......a penalty awarded for Juventus. I know a 'still' doesn't tell the whole story but look at the height of the ball on the cross, nobody is getting near it and it goes out of play.........Ashley Young is adjudged to have pulled Cuardrado arm as...

    Southampton v Aston Villa

As said earlier.....some strange decision make in this game, the handball is as clear a handball as I've seen all season. The deflection off the knee is irrelevant, the hand is away from the body and moves towards the ball. I just cant see how its not given and the deflection being the...

    Chelsea - Luton

I'm sure the ruling now is that, if the second ball doesn't interfere with play, then the play continues...... with all the balls placed around the pitch now players are often collecting one quickly to take a throw whilst the original balls is still bouncing around.......so its down to the...

    9v9 goal kicks

I've had pitches with/without the goal area this season........if there is one painted I go with it for goal kicks, if not then let the keeper take the kick from anywhere in the penalty area, but always discuss it with the relevant coaches before the game. Its interesting how different...

    Harry Kane

These incidents with Kane are fouls by him every time ...... Kane makes no attempt to play the ball and waits for the contact before going down and then holding his head...I'm surprise officials haven't spotted what he is doing if they review match footage each week. Kane also perfected the...

    Club Marks

In one of the leagues I work in the Ref Sec will send you your average mark every 12 games or so if you ask. They don't highlight individual games or clubs but it gives you an idea which way you are heading. There's always someone who will score you low because their team lost and they will...

    Palace v Leeds

If its Factual.....why is it causing so much controversy.....pundits and ex-players calling this the 'worst decision' ever......I'm not a supporter of Leeds or Palace, the point I was making was a VAR official makes the decision on which frame to choose to call the offside and were a line is...

    Palace v Leeds

They need to go back to 'Clear and Obvious error' when they make any VAR decisions.......this disallowed offside to me smacks of someone being 'smug' and showing everyone 'look at what I can do' .......the lines are still placed on the screen by an official who can manipulate where an arm, leg...

    Southampton v Newcastle

Its a penalty all day long, it was careless, reckless, aggressive with studs leading..... I cant understand why VAR didn't either call it themselves or send the Ref to view it. That's the sort of tackle on a Sunday that leads to confrontations and if you don't give a foul everyone is going to...

Open Age First game back in 8 years!

Well done on your comeback, looks like a decent game to start with and plenty of incidents. With regards your signaling for throws, I shout out which colour team I believe it came off nice and loud, I find it gives me an extra fews seconds to signal with my arm but I've already told the players...

Most annoying reaction to correct decisions

I had a similar incident this weekend, incidentally an U18's match, the attacker had rode two foul challenges and stayed on his feet ,but he was travelling at speed with the ball slightly running away from him. He was heading straight towards me and I couldn't see what was developing behind me...

Looking for advice on dealing with irate coaches

Some may say different, but when I was in a similar situation, with an alleged handball, and a coach was arguing the decision from the touchline, I waited until the next break in play, I stopped the re-start and approached him and explained how I had seen it from 5 yards away as opposed to his...

    Junior/Youth Offside or Goal

Cheers Mada.......the striker was some distance away and that's why I was happy to let the play continue, I was about to turn away expecting the keeper to simply collect the ball and then kick it out of his hands when I realised he dropped it and it fell outside the area which I think caused him...

    Junior/Youth Offside or Goal

Thanks for the reply.......I must admit I didn't take any action against the manager other than explain why I gave the goal......he just kept saying it was offside and his team had played for it, as he had taught them to do, and I shouldn't have told the keeper to 'play on'.

    Junior/Youth Offside or Goal

Hi All.......I had an incident recently in an U14's game......the attacking team played a long ball from deep inside their own half and a striker was offside by a good few yards, the actual pass was over hit and ran through towards the goalkeeper, the striker ambled towards the goalkeeper but...
