    too much?

If you are really struggling to justify the price then you probably shouldn't.

    Who's higher?

And this seems to be where the problems arise. Hellenic is Step 5 on the National League System and also levels 9 + 10 on the English Football League system (or football pyramid). Most CFAs appear to be Step 7/7a on the NLS and Levels 12 and 13 on the EFLS. But where do we fit in to this...

    New Member, New Ref

Hi Ben. Presumably before joining you have had a good look at some of the previous posts. You will find these invaluable. You will also see that an awful lot of times we can't agree on things. Such is the nature of reffing I fear. However, like Craig says, post it and let everyone pick it...

    Who's higher?

I get the list as above but can anyone tell me at which Footballing level each Reffing level can officiate at. e.g.Hellenic league is at level 9 + 10 of the football pyramid but what level ref can officiate (and run the line)?

    Starting as a referee

Adam, for what it's worth, I know I was jumping the gun but I decided to order my kit from A+H (who do embroidered badges). I didn't want to order a kit and then either sew a badge on or order another kit, so I got my kit with the embroidered CFA badge. I wore this to my first game. No one...

    Refereeing gifts?

Just before Christmas I bought myself a Garmin Forerunner 405cx with HRM (nice little bargain off ebay), but my best Ref associated present was a 12 year old Old Pultney. After a hard game on a Saturday or Sunday I sit and relax with my Old Pultney and think " F##k 'em."

    Heart-Rate Monitors and 'Distance Watch'.

I just bought a Forerunner 405 with HRM on eBay for less than 70. I'm still trying to work out how I am going to fit it into my two watch set up. II did consider wearing it alongside one of my watches, but I don't think that I an justify to players wearing three watches.

Why did you become a Referee?

I find black very slimming. My only regret is that the Umbro kit, despite being black, is a little snug and not as slimming as I would like.;)

    Dangerous play!

Regarding the dangerous play scenario. We all know that a "high foot" which makes a player shy away is DP and if contact is made it is a kicking offence. Similarly we all know that if a player brings his head down low to head a ball which makes a player shy away from kicking dangerous as well...

    Awkward situation

Absolutely right you did the right thing. I would also be tempted to report the comments made to you by the ref to whoever needs to be told (RDO/FA/or League. He might realise that it is fact he who has f##ked with the wrong person:mad:. It is referees like this that make it harder and...

    Impeding (obstruction)

Without looking in the book, I don't think that it is impeding. I think that it is a specific offence in its own right.
