    Biggest clanger you've dropped?

Biggest clanger I made was sadly at one of the biggest games I ever did. Was involved in a Top of the table clash in Welsh Football league div one as the senior AR. Game was going great until midway through the second half when standard goal kick was kicked up to my half. Douchebag me seeing the...

Ridiculously easy question of the day!

Orange??? He elbows the guy in the chest at the beginning then kicks when he wins the ball, finally as you say kicking the ball against the guy on the floor. It's reds everywhere. Do my eyes decieve me or does the ref just give him a yellow in the clip.

    Personal best

Having seen the away side who you reffed I am not in the least surprised. Easily the most horrible whinging bunch of idiots I had the poor missfortune to ref in my three years down your way. I honestly hated seeing my name against them on the fixture list as I knew it would be really tough one...

    Ruining the game

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick, nobody has said that a level 7 is a bad ref but you cannot say most are as good as those at the top I.e. Level 3 and above etc, there may be the odd one or two who have it in them to develop their skills to be able to ref at a much higher level...

    Neil Warnock

Whilst he does spout a lot of drivel, it was a big error on the part of the AR to get that wrong in the way he did. It can't be denied that the match "might" have finished differently had the goal stood as it should have.

    Ruining the game

I would grade them the same as Hullref has stated, if you are a higher level you have proven you are a better ref. If you choose to not go for promotion then that's your choice but you will not improve as you will remain at the same standard of football. No ref that chooses to remain a 5 could...

    Hacked off!

I feel your pain, been there myself a few times, primarily when the away team ring up the home manager ten minutes before kick off saying "oh yeah we can't get side". The biggest frustration with Army football is telling them that we actually get paid, the number of managers I have dealt with...

    You Are The Ref 311

Ah the pot stirring Haywain at his best. How you can say the two are similar only you will know, but then you like to make stuff what it isn't to suit your agenda I guess. One case is a first poster coming on and openly critising a parks level ref whilst opening with the fact that he himself...

    Ruining the game

I agree with Hull ref, not the best way to introduce yourself. I would agree you can't be that good a ref if you're only a 7 seeing as aside from youth football that's the lowest level, but hey maybe you are the Pierluigi Collina of your county. That aside, there are two sides to every story...

    Really?

As Supermonkey says I can only assume we've missed part of this in so much as he was taking ages to go off. Video editing can make anything seem real, but I would be amazed if he received a second yellow for removing his shirt as he left the field of play.

    We're a diverse lot....

You never though you were I but I do lol, won't catch me doing that when I hit half a century. The only mileage I'll be doing is in the motor I've restored using my pension.

When your watching a game with a friend do you get annoyed when they have a go at the ref?

I definitely find myself defending referees decisions, just by purely having to explain the laws of the game to my clueless mates when they scream at him on the TV for giving what was a correct decision. I've done it in weekend games, there was a well known ref in my local leagues before I...

Junior/Youth Had a feeling there might have been bigger things going on

I've witnessed sort of similar behaviour in OA football, manager would just vent on this one player all the time. No matter what he did he went ape. During a break in play I asked the player what was going on and he just shrugged his shoulders and said "the guy is just a complete ****"...

Goal kick - directly out of the penalty area (backwards)

Would be a retake for me as the ball wasn't in play and has not been in play before it went over the goal line, but a very odd one none the less.

    Open Age Christian Leagues

I just don't see how an FA can allow it, it's basically saying we don't wish to compete in sport against other religions? I get it when I drive though London and I see a sign for a Jewish team, in a massively Jewish area, that makes sense but for a whole league??

    Open Age Christian Leagues

Why are there leagues based on religion? Are they so blinded but inner hatred of other religions that they can't play football against Muslims or Hindus? Who cares what religion you are, you're there to kick a leather ball around a pitch. Sorry OP, not an answer but just religious leagues...

    We're a diverse lot....

Ha ha @HRW i am definitely not a Reccy Mech, but having said that some of them are flying along as well. I've done nearly 16 years and have 6 left to push with the option of another two if I want it. I wish I could say I take it easy now but currently I'm easily the busiest man in my Platoon...
