    Blisters - any tips

Prevention will be better than cure in the future! Try and grab some Zinc Oxide tape and place it on the points of your feet which have just recently blistered up (once healed), or if you feel any other part of your foot feeling slightly sore. Should help to prevent blisters in the future!

    Top 3 ignored laws

Did Mark Clattenburg not give one in the Manchester United vs Manchester City match? If I remember correctly, Antonio Valencia took a throw in from the half way line & MC awarded the throw in the other way, then gestured to Valencia that his hands have to come from behind his head and cannot...

    Double Promotion?

Sounds like you're making a great impression! The promotion season runs from March - February, so you have unfortunately missed promotion for this year and will have to wait until the 2015/2016 (promotion) season to apply. But come January 2016, you should email your Referee Development Officer...

    New Assessment Marking

Hi all, I know that recently the way the assessments are being carried out has changed (for 7-6 and 6-5). Would any assessors be able to send through the marking forms which are used and also the marking criteria (if it has changed from before the change was made)? Thanks.

    WGS in for an upgrade.

We received an email today that apparently it is defaulting back to the US date system. Therefore the first number cannot exceed 12, try and swap the two dates around and it should work perfectly!

    The Referee Wage Gap

The only problem, is that no matter how much you pay somebody, they will make mistakes! They are humans. Wayne Rooney on his £300,000 a week wage, will still make mistakes! The solution lies not with the referees, but with educating the clubs. The number of offside appeals that managers have...

    Standard Misconduct Form

Try and use the Multi Caution Match Report Form, rather than the Standard Misconduct Form. That is assuming that you are attempting to submit your cautions?

Why is half time 18 minutes on Sky games?

You have to remember that matches that are live on Sky and BT are not governed by the match officials. They will have a floor manager, whose job it will be to ensure the match kicks off on time (in accordance with advert breaks). While you watch, there will be adverts, not just players standing...

Can you ever be to strict

@Beezer, I meant more in small things like the positioning of free kicks and throw-ins. Something that people tend to become more relaxed with as they become more experienced.

    First County Cup Game

@Kieran W, just try to use more preventative communication, I find that help. For example, before giving a free kick for a push in the back, tell the players 'Hands Down fellas', then as soon as you give it, they already know what it's for! Helps you sell it without having to hang around and...

    Strangest stoppage of play ever!

Today, over at the lovely Hackney Marshes, when 7 minutes from the end of half time a guy in a golf buggy comes onto the pitch with a bag of sand and starts to fill in a non-existent hole!

Junior/Youth "You're a disgrace and should quit football"

If I were you, when talking to him on the pitch, do it in a loud voice and make sure there are a few players close by (not too close), so they can hear and be a witness incase anything like that is said again!

    Splitting headache after game

Drink water - lots of it. I find that sometimes this is also the case, but after drinking quite a bit of water (slowly and sipping), it seems to go away!

    Mr Dean

That was my initial thought when I first saw the picture, but I think that he puts his whistle on a big key ring and then hooks that around his finger. So I don't think it is his ring, but rather his whistle. I may be wrong though!

    Spintso Watch Issue...

No, that sounds like it's working fine! Mine doesn't count down once the stoppage time starts. It just keeps going until half/full time where it vibrates again!

    Living from refereeing

As said above, generally Youth football U9 is £20, U10-U15 is £25 U16+ is £30. Open age is generally £35, especially in leagues where you have to travel to games. On the line it is generally a steady £25 across the board.

    Promotions - Open Age 'Friendlies'

Not too sure of the official wording, but it does say that the matches have to be competitive fixtures (i.e league or cup fixtures).

Returning to the Middle... fitness needed!!

As Supermonkey has already said, just low impact stuff. To start with, try some swimming for a continual 15-20 minutes a day and then slowly step up the time that you are in the water. If you have a local gym that you have access to, also try and use the cross trainers and rowing machines. Both...
