    Need to vent...

I think lincs22 means if he were to get Level 4, he wouldn't be there for very long and the assessors would have a field day with him whilst he was!

    Pre-match instructions

My pre-match varies depending upon who I am working with, for example yesterday's game I had two very experienced Level 5s who I have worked with before, both of whom have officiated at a higher level, and as such the pre-match was kept brief and focused mainly on reminders about things I might...

    What is wrong with people?

They're the only two words that earn an 'automatic' red from me. I'm not saying they're the only two words that constitute OFFINABUS for me, but other delightful adjectives that could be used require some aggression before I'd be sending them on their way.

    Eventful game back

Tough match, but you find out much more about yourself in the tough matches. Okay, so you're young and maybe slightly inexperienced, and you've let a captain talk you out of a red card you knew was right. In my second open age match, I did the exact same thing; I heard a clear example of...

    Kit check?

Did anyone notice that not only were both keepers at Leicester vs Bournemouth wearing the exact same colour, but Schmeichel wore a black undershirt under a yellow top? Looks like Mr. Marriner is losing half a mark on Application of Law.... ;)

    Dissollusioned and confused by assessments?

    I've got AOL 4, MC 3.5, P/W 3, A/A 3.5, C 3.5, T 3.5, A 3.5, giving you 72. That is a poorly written assessment, couple of the competencies are only one line!

    Dissollusioned and confused by assessments?

73 on the second assessment seems generous considering the wording, take it and run! Assessor 3 won't be the last assessor that leaves you wondering whether they watched the same game! So your average is 72.6. A minimum of a 73 and a 74 on your last two will give you every chance providing...

    Dissollusioned and confused by assessments?

Haha maybe so! ;) I think that getting wider in the context of obtaining a better angle is still valid advice, but I agree the development points are limited on the whole. From what I can see in the assessments, you should focus on the following Make sure reckless challenges/persistent...

    Dissollusioned and confused by assessments?

That is spot on by the way, great advice IMO.

    Dissollusioned and confused by assessments?

To be fair to the assessors, they do offer some sound advice on things like positioning and varying whistle tone, but they aren't written overly well. I think by 'move to extremities' he meant closer to the corners or another way of saying 'get wider' but I could be wrong. I've never been...

    Dissollusioned and confused by assessments?

Agreed on that point Jacko, all of my Supply League assessments have been far more substantial. That assessor might well be when he does Level 4 assessments, who knows.

    Dissollusioned and confused by assessments?

I would say that is what you'd get if Assessment 3 had been done as a Supply League assessment.

Which one was the supply level game?

    Dissollusioned and confused by assessments?

Assessment 1 - prose seems to fit the marks, offers you some advice, particularly on positioning, but 73 seems right for the wording. Assessment 2 - Plenty of development on positioning again and a bit more conviction on arm signals would help as well. Another excellent advantage it seems, well...

Contentious decision: What would you do?

I'm afraid that wasn't correct in Law. If the ball is in the goalkeepers hands as he headbutts an opponent, it is deemed to be in play and the correct decision would be to award a penalty (if he is inside the box, which he must have been to have the ball in his hands!) and send off the...

What do you do before a game?

For a Sat 3pm kick off, I usually go for a jog around the block to loosen off after I wake up, come back and shower and suit up (Barney Stinson style!) and then always a bacon sandwich in the morning of a Saturday 3pm kick off! I check the kit bag many, many times on Friday night/Saturday...

CAR dropped me right in it

This makes me glad I don't have to contend with CARs anymore! You can't win here, but I'd be inclined to give the goal and let it be a lesson to the CAR to flag properly! I think you might have retained more credibility, and thus match control, if you'd given the goal and laid the blame firmly...

No referee in the EPL would have the balls to do this

Graham Poll sent off Duncan Ferguson for calling him a "f****** cheat" in a Carling Cup match back in 2006 as well IIRC. But I agree, if all officials dismissed for such behaviour it would no longer be a problem.

    Limit Referee Watch

Hi Charlie The Limit referee watch was my main watch for the last season, and I have really enjoyed using it. It's got a large face and easy to press buttons; its pretty straightforward so if you want a really fancy watch this isn't the one! I'd recommend it, but I don't know if it's a...
