    Delaying the Restart

Be clear with both teams that you'll just be adding time on and they'll hopefully get on with it / not give you grief

    Delaying the Restart

Crikey not seen anything so blatant! Keep YC'ing them and add time on accordingly. Failure to respect the game can also come into play so just keep control and book em all!

    RA Development weekend

I'm interested. Not been to one before though https://www.participant.co.uk/tra/participant/arrangement.aspx?id=302218&hash=F2AC9A378058DDB07356D68A9B1BA491

Sin Bins - are you finding they help?

Stats are stats and can always show different messages. The only important one is - are YOU seeing less dissent because of your use of it? Personally I think it'll take a season to bed in but if used well should see an improvement

Simulation appeal dismissed - ICT v Rangers Colts

Would be interesting to know what their deliberation was. Fairly sure the panel can only review the incident and 'previous' isn't a consideration

Best Ground and Biggest Crowd You've Refereed?

Somewhere you've never heard of. 20 people and a flock of sheep

Simulation appeal dismissed - ICT v Rangers Colts

That's quite a strong letter really. Glad they don't slate the ref and acknowledge that he gave what he saw. I had to watch it a few times to make sure but yeah it looks like no 8 has barged into him. I would be interested to see more transparency in the panels - sometimes a clear offence is...

    Referring Friendlies

I don't think the word "friendly" helps in these games. A better word is "training" and that training is not just for the players but for the referee. As such definitely prepare as per any match.

Sin Bins - are you finding they help?

Totally understand and sympathise with the ref here. However: As a community, Football HAS to make the conversation focus on the player for being sent off rather than the referee for sending him off. A referee can only impose a sanction when a participant has offended. The reason that a...

    Is this Offside or not?

Agree with other posts above. Worth pointing out the below example though with reference to the OP

Sin Bins - are you finding they help?

It's not quite a 'free' pop as it does count against a player's totting up score and a club's caution tally. Just send them to the bin; at least you don't have to worry about recording when they can return :)

    Chelsea v Utd

Probable red for Maguire early on - not quite sure how he got away with it under a VAR review. First disallowed Chelsea goal seemed more of a United foul that lead to the push so on balance should have either been pen or let the goal stand. I think that the second goal has to be disallowed as...

Sin Bins - are you finding they help?

I've used the sin bin 3 times in anger. Twice the players have apologised after the match that they acted the way they did. I'm broadly in favour as the peer pressure from other players is effective in discouraging dissent. Very rare to have to issue multiple dissent cards so whilst the...

County Recommended punishments for discrimination cases

There will be guidelines that they follow in terms of categorising amd sanctioning offences. The below link is what is published for Leagues and Clubs to have an insight into disciplinary matters. For discrimination start on page 42. It will depend on the offence. Aggrevated breaches are 6 games...

    Bournemouth spit their dummy out

I can assure you that at Grassroots, Leagues very much back referees up in the matter of dissent. A lot of Leagues don't have enough refs and treat them like gold dust. Why wouldn't they back refs? The simple fact is that Disciplinary is taken out of their hands. CFAs have that duty but also...

    AC Milan v Juventus handball

Wow. That's not HB for me. Not deliberate and it's only "usually" HB not "always" if it's making your body unnaturally bigger.

    Bournemouth spit their dummy out

The words used hardly warrant the description of "a disgrace". Tbh the club should just do this on the quiet, no need for the media to know. I try to avoid disparaging remarks as it won't help match control.

Who does the dropped ball go to if none of the teams had possession of the ball at the time the whistle was blown.?

Happy to leave it at that. I think the games I've been in (admittedly as player) have never had the scenarios that you have encountered. Agreed that the new system is an improvement - I always hated contested drop balls and saw a bad injury from one of them.

    Who supplies the flags?

My take-away from all of this is: the general public won't care whose responsibility it is to bring flags. If a game is delayed because a lino doesn't have a flag it will look bad on your team so take a set. It won't hurt and you won't be having petty arguments for the next month+
