    One or two watches

Ah, I misunderstood your 1st post then. I do only take one whistle onto the pitch though, now I'm going to be nervous about it somehow failing

    One or two watches

Pretty sure using two watches was common place before the joys of fitness trackers

    One or two watches

My garmin or refsix crashed after 35 minutes in the second half last week, thankfully i was wearing a casio on the other wrist

    Coin

I hate having even more stuff in my pockets so have put an H and a T on my red card, parents and team mates tend to panic that one of the captains is getting sent off before KO :)

    QPR v Sunderland

Could it be from the original cross? Looks marginal without being in line but his leg is definitely off/in line when the ball is played.

    U18 Referee Abuse

Well done for not just walking away, I'm not sure what I'd have done in the same situation. I'm new to this myself so can't advise re. the match report, do you still have email contact with the referees who ran your course? They might help

    A few things

Sorry to resurrect an old one, I'm fairly lost with shoulder to shoulder contact. I'm happy with contact if both players are running in the same direction but have been pulling them up once there is any aggressive leaning on an opponent or any momentum in the contact ie. they barge into the...

    Referee retention idea

I just can't understand why a rugby style only captains or a summoned player are allowed to converse with an official, from the top down too. It wouldn't take many games flashing yellows and 2nd yellows for this to stop. Coaches screaming at 4th officials too, quite often you don't even see it...

    Boot recommendation

Puma Kings are always comfy for me, I have wide feet. I do wish I'd bought firm ground over soft though. The tongues are big and white so not massively subtle. I have some Puma "ones" that are all black and I might try the advice given above and wear my all black Asics trail shoes while pitches...

First Open Age Game this weekend - what's your #1 piece of advice?

I just did my first "adult" game this evening, it was pretty horrible. Whinging I didn't give fouls, whining when I did. Three baddish tackles which on reflection I should've carded, a soft shout for a pen I didn't give but put the whistle to my mouth whilst contemplating. Lessons to learn along...

    Course

We were asked to were shinnies, hardly anyone did and there were no problems. The matches were very gentle, I guess insurance might be a problem if someone gets taken out. Good luck and hope you enjoy it, mine was in June and was brilliant if a little short

Unable To Get FA Safeguarding Children Recertification Module To Work

Thanks, I knew I'd seen a date and now can't find it anywhere.

Unable To Get FA Safeguarding Children Recertification Module To Work

I believe the recertification is also being phased out for a new £30 course, I was directed to the pay for course but found the recertification link and did it. It was accepted but the date it was being stopped was around now. This is cambs but might be nation wide

Courses are starting to restart and I'm still not sure...

Eeek, I have just booked my course and hadn't thought about age at all. I'm a young 44 and most learning things I have done so far I've been younger than most.

Crazy one in tge Rep Ireland game last night

My apologies, definitely Northern Ireland (said very sheepishly as my wife is half NI)

Crazy one in tge Rep Ireland game last night

Is it violent conduct? It's not really dogso but it's hard to argue against a red. It surely would've been easier to clear the ball though

    Man City v BVB

In his defence, in real time on the pitch it's quite understandable as it looks like Jude has steamed in and fouled the keeper. Letting it go and checking with VAR might have been wise, you might as well use technology if you've got it but fair play for going with his conviction. Technically...

    England - Poland

Apologies for language in the title, it's the only video I can find of the incident. I think Kane is very lucky not to have been booked.

    Wengers/FIFA’s offside proposal

Would adding a margin of error make it work better for VAR, professional football and for grass roots? And on marginal calls giving the benefit of doubt to the attacking player. I think adding the word "clearly" to the law could dramatically improve things. A player is in an offside position if...
